Track and electrical/DCC

The Last Spike (ok solder joint)
Finally.
June 14, 2009 at 10:00pm I soldered the last PC board tie in place, effectively completing all the trackwork for my CNJ Bronx Teminal layout.
A rough estimate puts the final tie count at about 4000, all soldered in place one at a time. About 8000-10000 solder joints.

Soldering Tips That will help make you a Pro
Hello all, here is a Tip or 2 to keep the solder out of un wanted spots on your Fast Tracks projects
n scale 0-8-0
Anyone install a decoder in the Walthers/lifelike n scale 0-8-0? If so which one did you use? This has a factory installed 8-pin plug.
Thanks
Auto Frog Reverser
I got wind of this great little circuit from Tim Warris' post on his CNJ Bronx. I found this video testimonial and thought I would share it with the MRH community.
Tam Valley Depot has a few other interesting circuits too.

Help with blue points
I've now spent a fair amount of time finagling with the blue point turnout controllers I chose. Out of three in place, only one is providing satisfactory throw strength for the Fast Tracks turnouts.

Digitrax DS-64 - Number of possible routes on a layout?
Hi,
Here is a question I can not seem to find an answer to anywhere. If using multiple DS-64 stationary decoders to operate Tortoise switch machines, how many routes can be set up?

Turnout Torture Test
Hi,
I have completed the installation of some of the Tortoise switch machines. One half of the layout has them in place, including the section of track with 8 sets of switchpoints.

Assembling Track Sections for the CNJ Bronx Terminal - HD Video
Hi,
Carrying on from my last video where I cut the electrical isolation gaps in the sections of track, here I start to assemble all those pre-built sections into a single unit.

Gapping complex trackwork - HD Video
Hi,
This past week I spent working on my CNJ Bronx Terminal layout in an effort to get it operational for the NMRA Train Show this coming July.
Still a long way to go, but I made some good progress.
I finally was able to cut all the electrical isolation gaps in the trackwork, a job I have long wanted to do but hesitated as it makes the track sections a bit weak, and until they are permanently installed in place I was worried about damaging them.
