digitrax sound files
Where can i go to get new steam sound files for the digitrax sound decoders? The Digitrax site only has a few steam files.

FKD's Quay / Wharf / Dockside tracking
Decided to start at the end of the harbour line. It ends on the dockside, wharf, quay, whatever it should be called - ya know where the boats park to be unloaded. .... |
Mike Train House Locomotive Problem
What's up with transponding?
I have been trying to understand more about wiring DCC and the various features it can have and have gotten to transponding.
First of all, is "transponding" a DigiTrax brand? no other DCC manufacturer seems to talk about it, though Lenz have their asymmetric DCC.
But my main question is, is the feature useful, or is more generic block detection good enough?
Many thanks Engineers.
n scale track spiking
What has anyone here used to fasten track down on their layout??? I seem to be having truoble finding spikes small enough to go thru the tiny hole already drilled in the ties. If the spikes are too big then they split the plastic ties and it looks bad. Or are you using a different method altogether to hold the track down?? I will be using cork roadbed under the track.
Sloped diamond crossing -- doable?
Has anyone any success in implementing a diamond crossing on a slope? I have a line coming in from an external fiddle yard and if I can bring it across the line of my helix it looks like the traffic flow will be simplified. Question is, do I need to have an extended level section for this or is it possible to have the trackwork on a slope? The helix is rising right to left at the intersection point with a 3% grade. The fiddle yard line is rising left to right at the intersection point with a grade of about 2.5%.

Strange Sound Problem With my Blackstone K-27s
Hello Group.
I have a rather strange problem with my Blackstone K-27s.
First, the particulars.
I have a Digitrax DCS50 (Zephyr) command station. I use the PR3 in standalone mode for programming. I have a two foot test track that I connect to the PR3 and I use a Bachrus test stand.
Here is what I have done for K-27 #462 but I get the same results with all four of my K-27s..
DC Power Packs
I would like to find some specs on the Atlas #311 Power Pack. It's DC, yep. Width and depth interest me too. Does it have holes on the back for mounting on set screws? Thanks if anyone has some info on this, pro or con.

What DCC programmer/tester would you recommend?
I'm a long way from building a layout. But I have a couple of engines I want to convert to DCC. With that in mind, I want to set up my laptop and a programming/testing track. What would you suggest for driving DCC on the track? It doesn't have to power much, so even a DCC starter set seems a bit overkill. I was looking at some DCC systems on the web, and discovered decoder testers. But those don't seem to be able to drive a track to test a decoder installation. is there a solution for both jobs, or do I really need to get both a decoder tester and DCC starter set?
Many thanks,
Central Valley Tie Strips and gluing rail question/opinion
Hello everyone.
I am probably going to use CVT in my yard and sidings as I like the way the ties are spread out over the mainline ties (I am still going to use ME code 83 for the main). My question is, I have heard and seen many types of adhesives used for fixing the reail to the ties. I have seen Barge (CVT recommends this), CA, super glue, pliobond etc.... Do you have a favorite, good result, or recomendation?
This is coming up fast so I would like some opinions.
Thanks you for your help as always.
