Peco vs. Walthers/Sinnohora Turnouts...
I am designing an industrial shelf switching layout and have been using Peco #5 & #7C turnouts for most of the layout. there are five places where I need to use W/S #6.5 curved turnouts to fit the trackwork into the space available. I like the "snap over" feature of the Peco turnouts as the layout will be hand operated with a wooden uncoupling/switch throwing pick. I don't want to use ground throws to hold the points in position. Is there a mechanisim that works like the Peco mechanisim that can be used on the W/S turnouts?

Frog Juicer Question.
I have a double crossover and I am going to use the frog juicer to siplify wiring. Has anyone used any of these products? And have your results been favorable?

Manly Switch Machine Toggles
I am by training an industrial technologist. Part of my job is purchasing industrial automation parts and networking with suppliers. Recently I was in contact with a supplier in the Ukraine and it came up that we are both model railway enthusiasts. We chatted trains for a bit and I placed a small order for industrial parts. The shipment arrived a couple of days ago safe-and-sound but with a surprise. Inside the main box was a smaller box addressed directly to me with these inside:
Speaker enclosures
Here is a link to a video about using sheet lead as a speaker enclosure.
This fellow has some more examples of different speakers if you know how to search the You Tube videos. He is a contributor to the Yahoo SoundTraxx group.
Yes, I know all about the potential health issues about handling lead and having it around the house where there are young children.
I use sheet styrene for enclosures.
Micro Engineering Concrete Track
Just received my Micro Engineering track for my Fair Interlocking module, very nice concrete tie profile:

Walthers Shinohara FYI
Unlike most of you I have no desire to hand lay track. Oh, the patience you must have. The Fast Tracks jigs do look nice and with all the rave reviews I have no doubt they work great however due to the number of configurations I need they represent a very substantial cash investment, some to build only one needed switch.
Old and Slow?
Some days we get a flash in the old brain pan, eh? From previous layouts I have a box full of saved walthers/Shinohara turnouts that have the solid metal bar attaching the points to the throwbar. It suddenly occurred to me that I could resurrect them and turn them into DCCfriendly by making the cuts both sides of the frog, adding the hidden connecting feeders, and replacing the throwbars with PC barssoldered to the points and cutting the top surface metal as in handmaking turnouts! Any thoughts? John Colley, Port Townsend, WA
Which decoder for N Scale?
Hi, I am looking for help.
My plan is to change from DC to DCC operation of my U.S. prototype N scale layout. My engines are from Kato (mostly), Atlas and a few Bachmanns. Since I live in Germany I would like to use the Lenz Digital Plus System.
My questions:
1. Does anybody have experience with the Lenz system and N scale locos?
2. How does it work with multiple traction (3 or more engines in one train)?
3. Which decoder is best suited for my purpose ( long trains with double and multiple traction) ?
