How is Model Railroad rail made?
This would be an assumption on my part; but, I would think that model rail is extruded. However, if you really know how it is made, please respond. Thank you!
Brushless DC motor tutorial
You might find this free tutorial from Mathworks (makers of Mathcad software) that covers the basics of brushless DC motors and how to control them.
https://www.mathworks.com/videos/brushless-dc-motors-introduction-156472...
It is short and very basic, but provides a good starting point for understanding these machines.
I haven't searched their website, but they well might have other free learning materials dealing with various types of motors and their control.
so many nooks and crannies are part of this hobby,
lookig for Fast track curved turnout builder
I am looking for someone to build me a HO Code 70 #6 curved (24" / 18") turnout. If you know of someone, please let me know internet site or eMail. thanks, David |

Looking for HO Peco code 83 #6 Electrofrog turnouts
Well, the day has come recently for Peco to add Unifrog to the #6 turnouts of their code 83 line and the Electrofrog and Insulfrog versions are discontinued. Shops are now stocking Unifrog only for #6, unless they have leftover stock of the other two versions.
I stockpile around seven of them but wish to find a few more Electrofrog code 83 #6 and am wondering if anyone know of shops I might contact to see if they have any left instock or on the shelves.
Installing a Sound Decoder in a steam loco
I am looking for someone who does Decoder installations.
I have a PFM Brass Y-1 Northern Pacific Consolidation needing a sound decoder. I have installed many non-sound decoders successfully; but, have failed three times with Steam Sound decoders. The loco has a motor who's stall current is within the parameters needed for this installation. I have isolated the motor, installed the LED head and back-up lights, and mounted a speaker in a wooden sound baffle.
Personal Mail me with your price quote, if interested.

Frog Juicer
Hello.
At a shortline station, I plan to mount a turntable and various tracks around it.
I want to use Frog Juicer to supply the frogs and turntable but am in doubt about where to connect them and how many to use.
I have attached track plans.

Gaps in Trackwork
I'm getting ready to lay some of my staging area track down near my entrance way door swing bridge.
I'm taking a closer look at exactly what I might do for the most immediate gaps in the tracks. I've seen several new products introduced and I know at least one of those would not be applicable as they would not work with my 'sliding connection'.
A couple of days ago I considered placing 'rerailers' on either side of the track gaps.

Setting up a programming station
For many years I've been programming my locomotives usually on the mainline using either the Digitrax or ESU handheld units. That has led to some unfortunate results. I've been graciously loaned the ProtoThrottle demo unit and that is the final point in my decision to really upgrade my equipment for programming decoders. I need a set-up where I can put a loco on the test track and completely program the decoder as I wish with minimal opportunities to screw it up and be able to come back later and figure out what I previously did.
A New product announcement
Hi Model Railroaders,
Have a look at this video and discover an interesting new product.
It might be useful for some of you building 'modular' layouts or if you have a 'lift out section'.

Please note that I'm not related in anyway to this Business but act as your fellow Model railroader in the interest of all being creative within our hobby.
Greetings,
Filip
