Track and electrical/DCC

Genesis GP9's
Scooped a couple of these this weekend at 25% off. Got a pair of Southern Pacific's for my new Southern California shelf layout. I noticed in the manual they mention that installing a DCC decoder that on these Southern Pacific's have extra lights on the rear and I will have to solder them to the rear most pair of the tabs on the right hand side of the circuit board. I plan on using RailPro with these locos and not DCC at all. I'm starting out new and have decided that RailPro will be much easier for my layout.
Wiring a Walthers double crossover
I am working on getting an older Walthers/Shinohara double crossover ready to work with DCC. I had set it aside a long time ago because it looked like a nightmare to make it DCC friendly. I'm following Steve Baggot's instructions on Alan Gartner's Wiring for DCC website.
Digitrax 10 pin connector
The Digitrax 164 decoder has 2 connectors. One is the usual 9 pin everyone uses. The other is a 10 pin for the speaker and capacitor. I am looking for a source for that 10 pin connector.

MRC symphony 77 - any good????????
Are those MRC symphony 77 separate sound control units any good? I know it is for 1 loco/train at a time but that suits me fine, also is the diesel sound specific to a certain type of loco - or or is it "generic"
Thanks in advance, Skoti
p.c.ties
What paint/stain would I use for p.c. ties? I would like it to match the wood ties I am using The idea is to make the finished products to look the same. Also the finish should not conduct electricity. Anybody offer a one step product (for both wood and the p.c.)?
Powering the frog
Hi!
I have some Atlas #8 custom line mark IV and want to power the frog for DCC. How to power the frog?
Pulse Width Modulation Results..Good and Bad!
PWM Design / Implementation Progress:
This is new info on my progress to build a PWM throttle with inertia.
I got everything to work and it powers the trolleys just fine. The inertia works fine too, but....
The motor noise from the 1.4 KHZ PWM is HUGE. As bad as my ears are it is bothersome to me. It seems to be a different loudness for different trolleys and only partially subsides at faster speeds. I know, I was warned. Now I have to re-evaluate the whole of the project:
1). I can kiss it off.

Cobalt turnout motor
Anyone have any experience with Cobalt turnout motors? How do you think they compare with the Tortoise? Any issues applying DCC controls to them?

Can voltages be different on different boosters on same Digitrax system?
First I will describe the situation. The local model railroad club's O Scale layout in the past had two separate Digitrax systems, one for the standard gauge and one for the narrow gauge. Each had their own separate Loconet Bus. Though not "the end of the world" it was at times irksome to have to find the correct plug-in's during an operating session. Since we have totally dismantled the previous layout and are rebuilding from scratch, one of the goals I have proposed is to combine into one system. Here is the potential issue though.
