Fast Tracks Sweepsticks and easments
Hey Gang,
I am looking for a very simple answer here...
At some point, I decided to have less railroad which afforded me features such as broad curves. My minimum is 42".

How I installed an NCE USB Adaptor on my fascia
First of all - thank you to everyone who responded to my post here, especially Prof_Klyzlr. He gave me the idea you will see below.
I'm building a small N scale layout on one side of my home office. One part of the layout is about 5 feet from my desktop computer across the room. I was looking for an easy way to connect the layout to my computer, and at the same time mount the NCE USB adaptor out of harms way.

DCC Engine moves then stops then moves
H All,
I am new to this website. I think this is great site!!
I have a problem with my DCC with sound Kato diesel loco, it was working great everything worked for a while then one night I wanted to turn on the headlight but I think I pushed a wron button on the controller. Now what happens is the loco moves a distance then pauses then starts back up again the sound never stops so I know I do not have a short, i am thinking I pushed a wrong series of buttons on the controller and now has some kind of starts and stops programmed into it. Anybody seen this before?
MRC Tech 4 hand held remote
Just got MRC Tech 4 hand held remote, and it says it is for model 250. Is there any other MRC that will also work with this hand held ? It came with a 6-wire cord with a phone-type plug. Even if I have to wire it to another type of connector, or even hard-wire it to another MRC. Looking for any help. Thanks.
Concerning Stall Motors and Servos for Turnouts
Tunr-out motors (controllers) like the Tortise are stall motor. Does that imply that there is always current flowing to the motor even though the turnout has been thrown or closed? I read something that suggested that the Tortose can hold position even though there is no current flowing?
I can ask the same question concerning servo motors. Does current (or signal) always flow to the servo? Can an unpowered servo hold a turnount in closed or thrown postion?
Thanks
Alan

Has Anyone Panel Mounted An NCE USB Adaptor? (Solved!)
If so, what did you use?
I would like to mount mine on the back of my plywood fascia so that a connector is accessible form the front of the fascia, but am a loss as to what to use.
EDIT: Solved! - I posted how I did it (with pictures) here:

Soldering rail joiners?
I tend to be of the school that solders power feeders to every track segment. Given this, what I'm curious what purpose is served by soldering rail joiners?
I understand that their are situations in curves where flex track ends may not want to follow the curve and soldering helps the track conform. That makes sense to me. But what other rationale would their be for soldering the joiners?
Thanks!
