Track and electrical/DCC

THE question

We are now sitting on top of a basement and I have the two pieces of my old layout ready to set up. Since I haven't started wiring it yet I want to start out with DCC. That leads me to THE question, which one? I'm not made of money but I also don't want to get something that has to be completely replaced later when I incorporate these sections into a full layout. Which system do you like and why? I am not very familiar with DCC so not sure what to look for. Thanks for your help.

Need help on reverse loops!

I have become brain dead on how to properly wire this section of my layout. I have tried a variety setups, but it's time for some expert help. I am using a Zephyer Extra and have a couple of AR-1's. If someone has thoughts on wiring and gapping this section, I would really appreciate it.

LED replacement for Athearn 63843 bulbs

Broke one of these bulbs trying to hold onto it with a clamp. Didn't know it was a glass bulb. DOH!

Is there an LED I can use to replace these? I would like to use them as ditch lights as well.

Suggestions out there please and where to buy from.

Thanks.

Doug.

Curved turnouts in/out radii

I am considering using several Peco No 7 curved turnouts in my layout design. The outer (though) curve radius is 60in and the diverging curve radius is 36in.
Are there any issues with track radii of 36 inches entering and leaving the 60in radius of the turnout?   While I have some room to work with, long curves of greater than 36in radius are not an option.  Short (10 degree) curve segments of 48in radius might fit into the design.
Thanks
Alan

DCC PWM

Does anyone remember the you-tube video discussing DCC and PWM or was it just an article in mrh only.

I need the link.  TIA

Also has anyone used optocouplers/optoisolators with DCC as an alternative to relays?

Tortoise switch control

Hi, would like to know if it is possible to have a Tortoise switch motor be thrown from two separate location by separate  DPDT switches, and if so how would you wire it.

Thanks

Speaker Installation

I read Bruce's article and watched his video on speaker installation, but have a question.  How much distortion is there thru a plastic shell of a locomotive?  I am putting sound into some of our club engines (Kato, P2K, Athearn RTR and some blue boxes). Was curious about this since mounting speaker to top rear of shell would be the easiest to do for some of these engines.
