DCC & DC, Digitrax AR1 auto reverser?
I have a DCC layout with a reversing section working fine.
NCE power cab and Digitrax AR1.
If I want to hook my system to a DC power pack will it hurt the AR1 or back feed and hurt the Power cab?
If I have a test track that can be either DC or DCC and that creates a momentary short while connected to the DC power will that harm either the AR1 or the Power Cab / PCP?
If so, is there a tested circuit design to automatically isolate those components when DC power is applyed?

Are the switch heads for Peco turnouts fixed or can they be moved for clearance if needed?
Nice 1/2” scale turnouts with home cast components.

Max length of run from DCC base station to booster
So I'm specifically curious about MRC, because that's what we have, but I'd take answers for any of the major vendors.
What is the maximum distance from base station to booster you've had success with?
Basically I want to know if I can run a small switching layout in the clubhouse off the base station for the main layout which is relatively far away (60+ feet potentially)
TCS UWT-50 - thoughts?
TCS has released pre-release info on the UWT-50 throttle (https://tcsdcc.com/mini-throttle). They are calling it a mini-throttle but the rendering provided doesn't look very "mini" to me. No physical dimension are provided. It would be nice to see a comparison photo of the UWT-50 versus the -100 for a size comparison. Or is this a "mini" in functionality only with the same form factor as the more expensive version.
I have the UWT-100 and love it buit was expecting something like a CAB04/06 or UT sized throttle.
ME Turnout Positioning
Starting to work on a first layout (HO) and have question on using ME #6 turnouts.
1) If I place a LH turnout at the end of the diverging route of a RH turnout what would be the track spacing if I continued with straight tracks on the trough route of the RH turnout and the diverging route of the LH turnout? Trying to layout the template from ME I get it is close to 1 9/16". If this is correct is that spacing too tight for a yard?
Remove Peco switch springs after installing
I've some Peco turnouts on my switching layout. I installed them with the springs for manual operation. Now I want to install servos and would like to remove the springs, but the turnouts are completely fixed, glued down, ballasted. Do you have any ideas how to remove these springs without ruining anything?
Interface a computer running Linux to a DCC command station
Is there a commercially available product that allows a computer running a Linux operating system to interface with a Digitrax DCC command station?
I have been using a computer running Windows XP with a RR-CirKits LocoBuffer-USB interface. Now I want to install Linux on the computer but the LocoBuffer does not have a Linux driver. Neither does the Digitrax PR4.
Does anybody make an interface that works with Linux?
MRC1908 sounder
I have a n MRC1908 sounder that has been in my junk box for years, I know it is a 2 wire hook up but when I look on the internet it shows resisters in the supply lines there are none on the board supply wires that I have, question is are they required and if so what size. Thanks Zeke
