Bus/feeder wiring question
When connecting feeder wires to the bus wires, which is preferable: Using suitcase connectors or wiring the feeders to a barrier strip? I imagine troubleshooting is easier when feeders are wired to a barrier strip.
Speaking of barrier strips, I know how the feeders are wired to it but how is the bus wired to it?

JMRI operations - android app?
Hi all,
I've got an old Samsung Galaxy Tab which I'm planning to use with JMRI to run my model railroad. I'm also planning on using the JMRI operations module for switch lists, etc.
I was just wondering, is there a way to take the switch list information from the operations software running on the PC and pull it up on the tablet via wi-fi at all?
Cheers,

making pcb's
OK. I have a PCB layout for a DC throttle I want to build. I would need at least two maybe three to have one as a back up. The problem I am having is I model trains and don't really want the problems of trying to learn the software to convert a PCB layout to a file set that can be manufactured nor do I feel confident enough to try making my own PCB. Is there anyone on here that has experience at doing this that would be willing to help. I want to do this but really don't need to pick up ANOTHER hobby.

Kapton Tape
I just wondered if there was any substitute for Kapton tape used to install drop-in decoders? I'm sure there must be a valid reason for needing to use this type of tape. Just wondering.

Switch Machine Touch Toggle Controls
Has anyone installed the touch toggle controls for the tortoise switch machines? I would like to hear some feedback about them. On the surface it sounds good.
Any and all observations would be appreciated.
My first observation is that it would cost about $200.00 to run 12 switch machines. That comes to about $17.00 a unit. So it ain't cheap.

Both under construction.
One of these days I might get to run some trains.

Speaking about train controlers
I know that with dcc you can control a locomotive with a computer. Is there a software package that can control a passenger train between say 5 or 6 stations then reverse direction?

PCBs for Tortoise Relays
I set about mass producing the relay boards for my Tortoise controls. Originally built on IC experimenters board with point to point wiring, I quickly decided there were just too many interconnections for this method to be practical on 72 relay boards. A printed circuit board was in order.
Yard routing?
Well the lower staging yard is taking shape and trains are running! I have the Tortoise's installed and wired to an NCE "Switch 8" which is performing flawlessly. (controlled by a DT400) However with this yard ladder I am finding it to be a pain in the rear to have to line every switch along the way to the track I want. Is there a method of lining all the switches at one time? (For example hitting track three would line up switch 1, 2, &3 etc.) I'm thinking maybe the extra contacts on the machines?
Difficulty with my Digitrax throttle DT400
I have my Digitrax Command Station DCS100 and three boosters DB150 connected with Loconet cables in the A and B slots. My throttle DT400 is plugged into a UP5 which is plugged into the DCS100.
I power up the DCS100 and then the DB150's one after another, take my trottle and turn on the track power and everything works fine. All the lights and sounds are as they should be. I can select and enter locos and run them.
