JL&T Railroad Blog - L&T Branch Line / JL&T Module Area...
I thought I would start a new blog post on the L&T Branch Line / JL&T Module area. I have now started doing the backdrop and laying the sub roadbed components. So this blog post will follow the construction of this area.
The latest version of my CL&W Sub Layout
OK, I'm back. It's been a long 19 months since my most recent post, but I found that the less time I spend on forums/blog entries, the more work I can accomplish on my layout. However, there were also a few serious events - such as being told that my job function was going to be eliminated - that made me wonder if I'd even be able to continue in mrr! [Luckily I was able to learn other technologies, enabling me to stay with my current employer for another few years.]
Hokan Central
Here I present some pictures of my model, I hope you like it.

Getting Small
Years ago I read an article in Model Railroader about a man who took a walking trip around his layout. On this trip he noted those things that looked realistic and un realistic. The thing that stood out in my mind the most was Ungrounded buildings. Ungrounded being that they seemed to hover in mid air at the base, floating several inches above. Now in the real world buildings are setting on foundations or right on the ground. Seldom hanging in mid air unless some force of mother nature had occurred.

Bill Scobie's Rio Grande Southern
Bill Scobie's Sn3 Layout has spectacular scenery and craftsman structures. Follow the Ore Train from Rico to Telluride as a highly detailed locomotive pulls wonderfully modeled rolling stock upgrade on hand laid track.
First Formal Session on the 8th Sub
While informal/incomplete sessions have been ongoing on the layout for some time, yesterday marked the first "real" session with a more-or-less full crew. Follow along to see how the place looks with trains running.
Layout Tour
An Alco RS-3 from RFFSA (Brazilian Federal Railway) pics-up a car at station and departs. The locomotive is a Atlas/Kato modified and repainted. Inside is a Soundtraxx Tsunami decoder.
