Jumping into JMRI Operations
I have been fortunate enough to finally find a local layout group to get involved with. Everyone gets together to work on anyone else's layout who would like the groups help, and we all share in the enjoyment.

This will be my first trip on "Private Varnish". The Toledo to Chicago leg of the journey will be May 15th 2013.
One section at a time ...
I've attached a photo off my iPhone of my latest switch on this section - for now. It was starting to look like a railroad so I figured that the point of view should be from the boxcar roof. Without realizing a potential problem the roadway was graded in place using sparkling and over the rails, ties, and pc board tie! Looks ok for now but will short out my DCC system so some planking in this section will hide the future demolition.

How much do we really have packed away.
Hi there, this is my first blog post but have been reading the magazine since the first addition. I model American Prototype mainly CSX and its predecessors as well a bit of Conrail ad Norfolk Southern. Since I live in Australia I all so model Australian prototype using the same layout just swapping loco's and rolling stock to suit the prototype I every 3 to 4 months.

85 Ton GE Steeple cab update
Well since it was snowing all day I stayed in side, completed my changes to my 3D print file for the steeple cab and sent it to Shapeways for printing.
New guy, need help
I have 200 engines and 400 pieces rolling stock in various conditions I inherited 20 yrs ago from my grandfather. i live in Powell River B.C. so getting help with identifying them is next to impossible. I am moving in the next few years and need to start selling off the trains. I'd like them to go somewhere they'd be used as they were his pride and joy, and I spent many weekends as a child playing with them
