My staging/storage yard
I need some help and ideas on configuring my storage yard. I was looking at off-layout storage for my rolling stock, but decided to add a drop down gate to cross the doorway to a 90" x 18" yard.
The following is a trial of using scarm and trying to layout as some sort of a yard to hold my equipment. I will be using a #6 fast tracks jig for the turnouts. This is in HO scale. Oh ya, I don't have a clue about this yard business.

Switch-Works Laying Tie Plates
This video shows how to use the Switch-Works to lay tie plates. Switch-Works is a set of jigs for assembling "Museum Standard" track featuring wooden ties, metal tie plates, etched frogs and machined points.
Pembroke II: Roadbed
Tonight was a Posse night for Pembroke. We managed to finish the roadbed on the north section of the layout before running out of glue. Nearing the end of heavy construction, it was hard to contain my excitement. So I got out a couple of test cars and posed them on some flex track.
Cedar Creek - Modeling Water on the 8th Sub
I wanted a project of limited scope that would still provide evidence of progress. Modeling some water sounded like a plan, so I got to work on the Cedar Creek scene from last year's MRH Forum Challenge. For construction of these scene in preparation for water, see http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/8540 .
New-ish member, new blog
I've been following the MRH community for several months now and found some great ideas and resources through the various posts here plus external blogs, so I'm returning the favor by sharing my external blog (http://kcspur.blogspot.com) documenting my just-beginning efforts to model an industrial branch line in Kansas City, MO that was once operated by the Frisco.
Pembroke II: Quantity Surveying
As we near the end of bench work construction, it's time to start thinking about the track. For some reason, I don't feel much like working on any of the actual construction projects this evening. So, I whipped up a quick spreadsheet to estimate the quantities of things like ties, joint bars and rail and so on.
Hammerjacks Free-mo Module
Slowly under construction is a 4ft Free-Mo module titled "Hammerjacks" after the famed rock concert venue in South Baltimore. For my first blog entry:
Hammerjacks gets a business district
Blair Line Pizzaland and Addams Avenue No. 1 form the primary block of businesses. Besides the pizza joint there is a Record & Tape Traders used music store, a liquor store and a pawn shop. Below are some progress shots
