Foamcore Layout Baseboard
I finally found some time to cut and glue some foamcore. Here are a few low resolution pictures of my progress. The result is rigid and light. Now to decide on some track and turnout options.
Here is the frame and top. I doubled the thickness for the sides and ends by laminating with Weldbond glue. Total length is 6' and width is 1'. The frame was assembled with hot glue.

I love doing scenery! (Another quick layout update)
Just a quick update on the recent work on the "Black n' Blue" I had posted some pics in my last blog update of what I called "The Ridge" and over this weekend I managed to complete some more work on it and the result is shown below. I've included a couple of the "before" pics that were already shown just to show the evolution of the scene so far.... I love doing scenery!

Arizona & California RR in N Scale
I plan to keep this blog updated with the construction of my N scale layout, protolanced from the Arizona & California Railroad. The layout is housed in a 9-fft x 20-ft finished room in the basement. It will be double decked with the majority of the lower deck being staging, the exception being one siding for meets. All of the action will happen on the upper deck with a classification yard and a branchline. Track will be a mix of Micro Engineering code 40 and 55 with handbuilt switches.
Dover NH Backdrop Painted
I decided to post this as a separate blog entry from my ongoing updates because I am pretty happy with how it came out. My two practice attempts on scraps definitely helped because now that I did the real thing I am keeping it. I'll post one photo here and the rest in a reply.
Using Extruded Foam for Risers and Sub-roadbed
