Richlawn RR V2 - Palmer Kitbash Structure overhead door animation - UPDATED 10/1/14

*** UPDATED 10-1-14 ****

I've added a picture near the end of this thread showing the progress on the building.

O.K. - I know it's jerky, but at least the door opens and closes on my Palmer structure using animation.  I've used the servo and controller from Tam Valley to provide the motion.  I like the unit because it allows me to set the end points of movement and also the speed of the movement.  I've got more work to do on the project but wanted to show what I've got so far.

Algonquin Railway Eastern White pines

Over the last two weekends I have been making up a batch of trees.  The Algonquin region of Ontario I model is full of Eastern White Pines, Hemlocks, Cedars and Spruces for Evergreens.  To model these I have used a few different techniques.  For the Eastern White Pines or (EWP's) I make them one at a time branch by branch per the method developed by Mike Confalone in his Modelling outside the Box DVD's.

In Search of Cardstock

Cardstock is an essential material for frugal modeling. But, how to find it. It won't likely just appear. It takes some scrounging and thrifting, but the effort is worth it. Join me as I share some of my favorite sources for this versatile material, and some ideas for using it: http://joshuadewolfe.wordpress.com/2014/09/12/idea-2-in-search-of-cardstock-mrbg/

Passenger operations on NYC/D&H layout. Photos and video.

My friend Mike is building a layout based around the NYC/D&H operations in Albany,NY. The centerpiece of his layout is Albany Union Station. The era is 1968-69. The trains are exact consists, with the exception being the express cars, which varied daily. We have been working on the passenger operations before bringing the freight side into the mix. The track and DCC wiring is all done. The motive power and cars are all running. He just needs to finish up some car cards and waybills.

Coal and steel railroad

My name is Josh .I'm mostly a lone wolf when I operate. My layout models prr and a fictional railroad called coal and steel . It can take 3 operators to run the railroad or 1. It is o gauge 3 rail and block control with remotes that I built. The paperwork is car Card waybill and track warrant. I'm writing a article to submit to the dispatchers office magazines.
