Quincy and Torch Lake RR - remains
This isn't related to the RGS, but it's a cool narrow gauge railroad in Michigan copper mining country, and there's a lot of remains. Photos and a few details in my blog:

Shoving platforms at HIP
Some photos of one of the shoving platforms used at Highland Industrial Park. This one is a Bluford Transfer Caboose weathered by a good friend Seven Williams but it is currently out of action with a faulty truck
Since it has been weathered the screw hold the one truck on doesn't want to go back in square.
The shoving platforms are used due to the limited view round the sharp curve as the train is pushed under the Hw17 bridge from the yard.
An Incredible Resource - April 1990 CN Winnipeg Terminal Car Control Manual
An Incredible Resource
Steve Boyko, recently posted a page from a very interesting document in a Facebook Railfan group I belong to.
The document is the April 1990 edition of the CN Winnipeg Terminal Car Control Manual.
When I saw the post my brain went haywire.
It contains track diagrams and car spot lists, codes, and names, for EVERY CN Customer in Winnipeg in 1990!
**Mind Blown**
JB-3 in action
Due to track work on the LV main, JB-3 crawls at reduced speed on the old CNJ main. The parallel LV bridge makes a good photo spot.
Hill's Pet food plant
Spent last night finishing the track work for the Hill's Pet Nutrition plant in Commerce CA. It's situated on a 2'x5' or so peninsula off the layout and will be one of the key anchor industries on my LAJ. The plant was served by two tracks, for a total of six car spots.
Operation session on coal and steel railroad today.

Weekly Photo Fun - July 10th to July 16th, 2015 (Dupe thread LOCKED)
When I retired and set up my N Gauge shelf layout, I knew I wanted to include memories of growing up in Tuckahoe NY and taking the train to Grand Central Terminal. A town set up like Tuckahoe was easy: just have the trains in a cut below street level. But GCT was way too big; so I decided to make a model just to remind me of that great building.
