A change of pace - decalling some boxcars

With my VIA combine off to get painted I'm in a bit of a lull in modelling.  I don't want to undertake another big project as I would like to finish the combine.  I'm venturing into new territory with the crazy idea of actually finishing something.

My Test Module

Be cause I have ripped up my old layout and am wanting to build a new one based on the Illinois Terminal and their interurbans, I have decided to build a "test module" help me as I go though this new process.

Train Mountain Railroad Museum

OK, I post here in reference to model railroading of mostly the indoor kind.  I am active in O scale and ON30 indoor model railroading.  I also have a 40x50 digital wood shop that includes a CNC router, a laser cutter, a 3D printer, and other goodies.  However the topic of this blog entry is to give some data to my other model railroad adventure which is out door 7 1/2 inch gauge 1 1/2 inch scale outdoor railroading.

Soldering solution for turnout points

I have started hand laying my track after several false starts. I decided to use silver bearing solder to "weld" the points to the throw bar but was having difficulty stopping the flow of solder on the outside of the points. After going through a couple throw bars I decided to Google the problem to see what other modelers did to resolve this issue.

Scratchbuilding main station for the layout

Hi!

I ordered drawings from the country architechture drawing archives and got started on the main station. It was teared down in 1970. I´m modelling the "Tullinge Station" as it looked between the years 1954 to 1963.

A new chapter

Hello again fellow modelers. Its been a while since I have posted here as life has been rather busy. But I have exciting news to tell. If you will head to my personal blog, https://johnnybweb.wordpress.com, and read my newest entry, you will see what I mean. A New Chapter is About to Begin.

And please, I welcome your comments and input on the new layout design.
