AK Interactive Weathering Pack - Locomotives and Wagons

This week’s video is looking at a pack of three products from AK Interactive.  Are they worth it and how would you use them to weather?

Kathy

Randy, I think this is the video you wanted to see.

Randy, I found this one.  I think this is the video you wanted to see.  If not Message me.  Other videos have been posted I can look again and see what I can find.  Thanks

Misuing a video game for Layout Planning....

So being an AVID Vlogger for the Carquinez Club, I was looking for some new ideas for content instead of members trains, runby's at open houses and ops sessions. I came across another Vlogger who using Trainz and Trainz Model Railroad Video Games virtually modeled a local CSX sub (Pennsylvania & Berwyn) and a layout from an old Model Railroader Magazine (Needles Sub). Soooooo... Why Not the Carquinez Model Railroad Society club layout?

Track Build Blog 2017 - Freelance Layout with Montana late 80's influence in N Scale

Hi all

I will post all my progress of my track build in this Blog from start to finish as I go.

So I have decided on my layout design and as per previous posts I have 3 of the Modules built. I have now started to lay the foam base for the scenery and track work will begin soon. I will use a foam roadbed for the first time in place of cork, a local manufacturer has a very good product that I will use. they have 3mm single roadbed with a chamfered edge and is split down the middle and they also do a 300mm X 450mm square that I will use in the yards etc.

Track buffers. Or how to prevent loco's flying off the desk.

I made a buffer stop to prevent my loco's getting any air time.

Simple made out of Northeastern scale lumber. 10x12's for the uprights and 6x10's for the cross pieces.

Still a bit dark paint wise, but I will add more weathering when I start the ground work.

DD9C-2 Transfer locomotives #6100

I have always wanted a transfer locomotive to work between my steel mills and foundries, but the only one I know of was a model of the brass Baldwin DT-6-6-2000. Only time I have found those those was high dollar locomotives so I set out on designing and building my own.

I stated by looking for a mechanism and frame. I wanted to use a good running engine that ran great at low speeds. I ran across a Kato SD40-2 that had electrical problems but for the price I pick it up. Once I found the issue and fixed it I had my base for the transfer locomotive.

Back into signal installs again...

So I've had a little timeout from the layout over the last few weeks.  Two weeks with school holidays, and some extra projects around the house before winter sets in.
