My latest project is for a new area for switching on the CNW Peninsula Div. This thread will chronicle my progress.

These 3 are the way it looked before the changes.

Another revision of my upper deck of the Yacolt Branch. Enables continuous run and 3 track staging of logging equipment inside the helix to the bottom deck.

Min radius mainline radius is 24"  with no.5 turnouts.
Min radius is the lead after log dump and mill yard.
 

Y sections is on lift out to alow turning of locomotives when required.

So I see a lot of folks talk the praises of Kadee #5 couplers... and I have a few on my layout, but what I have been noticing lately (and maybe it's environmental) is that the #5s have been getting... stiff? If i have a bad coupler that won't spring back, it's always the #5 (and I replace it with the #148) The issue I see is the profile, due to the centering spring... having that extra piece of brass in the box is just making some of my couplers not want to move freely, and dry graphite lube isn't fixing the issue on most of my rolling stock.

This Blog is intended to cover the actual progress of a new project layout I will be working on for the next two years as the Ultimate P&A/NKP HO Layout is put on hold.  I have decided attempting to build modules for this layout in an "Interim P&A" Layout was not working out as I had planned.  Too many compromises, too much time and materials dedicated to spaces that would be totally ripped out, and the fact is the timetable my family and I are following has the building expansion, that will house the Ultimate Layout starts next spring.  I much rather spend

dunring the last few days I wired the track of my Lochdubh terminus. Now I can concentrate my efforts for the turnout motors. I plan to use servos, in combinations with the MERG Servo 4 board. Today I could run the first locos and trains since January 2017 on my layout.
