Layout Progress Video #1 - Surveying the Space

Here is the first of many new videos for the new layout progress series I've started on the new MFR. I wanted to take a moment to share the space and my plans for preparing the room for the layout.

RFID chip tag in wagons for switching

Has any thought of putting an RFID chip inside a wagon for switching?

Was thinking of this as you can get like 30 little stick on ones for around $8

Most phones will read RFIDs for shunting.

Extending the layout and work space.

I sold off some old furniture that was hogging up space in my garage, so I figured it was time to occupy that space again, but with something more enjoyable than a spare mattress. Also, My under the layout work bench was getting crowded, so I need more work space as well. I built an additional 8'x14" section and installed two shelves below for materials storage. This really made my workbench more more workable. It was driving me a bit batty with the bench so crowded. I was often unable to locate things and I was having a hard time completing projects.

A little more progress on the top level

Well, I haven't worked on my layout for a while, busy working and helping others with their layout. You guys know how poor I plan a layout out... I just kinda pick a subject and roll with it. That brings me peace and happiness, even if I end up tearing stuff out. Slowly, it moves forward and frankly, I am pretty happy with the way this latest addition looks !

Rapido SW1200RS and ESU Lokprogrammer

Just got my two new SW1200RS's from Rapido.  They're look, run and sound great.

But I'm having a weird problem when I try to read the loco sound decoder values into my Lokprogrammer.  The function mapping the Lokprogrammer reads has no correlation to how the decoder functions.  In other words, if I press a function key, it does something different than the function map says.  What it actually does corresponds exactly with the manual, though.

i get the same results for each of the two Locos.
