The San Ramon Branch of the SP and other railroads of CCC
Thank you for reading this. I thought that i would throw out what I think I know and let the more knowledgeable correct my misinformation and thereby coalesce a useful body of knowledge. Hopefully I can edit this thing after posting.
About Colorado Railroads
Hi, My name is Steve, and I've been without a layout since 1992.
Since then, there's been a virtual revolution in model railroading as far as operation is concerned. Something called DCC has made my throttle pack obsolete, at least I think.
Video on board for your railroad
Have you ever wanted video for your layout from the train's view but didn't want to set up one of the wireless camera transmitter / receiver sets? I have one of the wireless sets; however, I receive interference (I believe from my neighbor's computer router) and the picture has annoying static and horizontal lines.
The Grand Canyon Line
Here's a mural painted on the side of a BNSF abutment in Pinole, California. It's labeled "The Grand Canyon Line" and seems to indicate that Warbonnet trains were a regular event in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'd sure apprecciate if some one could fill me in a bit about this.
Adhesives terminology - ACC vs CA
I have some confusion about the use of the term "ACC" when used in a discussion or article about the use of a cyanoacrylate adhesive (CA). Where did the acronym ACC originate? It does not, IMHO, derive from cyanoacrylate. Is/Was it an acronym derived from a manufacturer of a cyanoacrylate product ? Perhaps I have not had the experience in the modeling arenas to have been exposed to this acronym. Is it a gel type formulation of CA ? Is it like the Slow Jet adhesive (as manufactured by Jet Glues ? (Not to be confused with Jet Blue )
