EPT's O Scale blog - Passenger Depot Platform

On my station module I'm having a passenger depot with a platform. The platform is a low platform with its top of the deck at the same height as the top of the rails. The deck will be gravel with stained wood to surround the platform.

Silohette

I've often seen photographs of trains in silohette with the sun setting behind them.

Electric Shovel

Started work on my electric shovel after 3 hours of work here what I have done so far. It started out as a Lionel shovel. I completely redid the body.

You never what you are going to find when you go through old photos.

You never know what you are going to find when you go through old photgraphs.

My wife, who is in the process of emptyng her mother's apartment, was going through some old photographs when she found the photo below:

The PWRR - EBT Update

I've been scratchbuilding the first four yard structures at Orbisonia. I've used Northeastern batten and scribed wood overlaid on a foamcore shell. Some windows and the corrugated roof are Clever Models paper products. Paper glued to foamcore works out great.

The first structure is the car shops.

The boiler and coal bin were next.

JL&T Railway Blog - The Layout Construction...

All as per a couple of recommendations from fellow MRH members I have started a new blog for the construction phase of the J&L.

As previously mentioned I now have the timber sitting in the layout room ready to go, the drop saw is warmed up, the radio is tuned in for continuous music, and I have stocked up on coffee!

I have one little house keeping job to finish off tomorrow and then it should be all systems go...

Cheers,

Jason...

Ghost River Railway

Well, I finally got my lighting in and took some pictures. The small staging yard is my link with Canadian Pacific Railway and the start of the railway. I hand shift the cars to the shelf above as needed.  Eventually I'll get a waybill or car-card system to controll operation. Engines will not be removed except for maintenance. The far right track is for inbound trains where the road engine will cut off and cross over to the second from right track and await its turn again.

Thanks!

Wow!

Thak you for providing a wonderful alternative to the printed publictions. While those pubs were the main clearing house for information during my 40 years in the hobby there were many times (and this is one of them) that I could not justify the money for annual subscriptions and still afford to model.

All Aboard!

All aboard!

We just got our household goods delivered yesterday, and it looks like all the hobby supplies made it safe and sound.  I need to check through stuff, as the models I shipped have spent 3 months inside a very large metal box, in the hottest part of the year, to what is one of the hottest places on our planet.
