Slow going on the corner

Am I the only one that encounters this problem? - It seems the closer that I get to completion on something the slower going it gets and feels like it will take forever to finish!  Case in point:  I'm about 95% complete on the alcove corner section that contains Buck & Loretta's trailer house and the last 5% seems to be taking FOREVER!

I've added a dark gray mask to the picture below to help block out the background.  I'm now adding trees, bushes, telephone poles (with wires) and final details.

JL&T Railroad Blog - Trackside Photos...

Hi All,

Well today being a great sunny day in Melbourne I decided to get out the JL&T module and indulge in my other love in this hobby - Photographing Layout Scenes...

Well to be exact there were quite a few people rail fanning today on JL&T as the RDG-OW-Extra (OW being Over Width) was delivering two shing new CAT 966G Forest Machines with Log Loader attachments to the local CAT Heavy Dealership.

Some great photos were taken by all.  Anyhow a photo tells a thousand words...

Detailing Lampson Yard

The continuing yard detailing project.

Yard ladder.  I added fine ballast to represent walking ballast, as well as weeds:

The tracks themselves, get a rust wash along the rail and a grease wash down the middle, along with weeds and spilled lading.  The orange ties represent the clearance points for each track.

Monday Movie night in the Basin

There hasn't been much Monday Movie action lately, so I thought I would submit these clips from our Saturday session on the Sudbury Division:

Kool Aid F40PH

I haven't been able to work on any model railroading related items lately, so today I decided to work on one of my favorite units, Via Rail's Kool Aid F40PH-2.

Big Thankyou

Joe, Thank you again for your heads-up on spammers. We should actually pity them.

To have an urge to destroy or to try and tear down what normal folks enjoy or what you are incapable of creating must make for a seriously disturbed psyche. Imagine having to live with that...

I want to thank you for your resource-rich Siskiyou Line site, for your superb MRH magazine and for your wonderful DVD programme.  The model railroad fraternity around the world have something very special in your unique contribution to this hobby.

Regards.

Never Say Never

Well, I am starting a new adventure. I have to dismantle my very small O scale 2 Rail layout in one of the bedrooms. My son is coming back from Peru and moving back in, also my daughter is moving back in and of course my mother in law is moving in. So the empty nester only lasted 16 months. So good bye to my train room.

But as a typical "Jarhead " I didn't give up. I told the wifey, "no problem" but you have to clean out the garage and sell everything to make room for the O Scale.

16 1/2 feet of hops...

Since I got to see hops harvested back in late August, I've been somewhat dissatisfied with the hops field on my layout.

So I'm "growing" some new hops for the field...
