Quick and Easy Scrap Loads

I have found a way to make quick and easy scrap loads for my gondolas using the leftover shavings from a machine shop.  These loads can both be made permanent or removable depending on your needs.  I first use a block of leftover ceiling tile for the base, cut and shaped to fit into the car.  Then I cut the block of tile in half to fit nicely inside the car.

HO scale roundhouse

Has anyone used the Bachmann HO turntable?  It has 22.5 degrees between the tracks.  I can't

find a roundhouse that fits it.  Most have either 10 degrees or 16 degrees between the tracks.

I am new to this so I am in a quandary as to what to do.  Maybe I should just get rid of the turntable.  I

am beginning to think it is a piece of expensive junk

Help anyone,

Thanks Ken

After what my spouse refers to as "her summer from hell" with her shift to "nurse, companion, and chief cook and bottle washer" following my diagnosis of congestive heart failure, I figure that we have a limited time frame to get on with the modeling that I have always wanted .

Splitrock Mining Company begins ore operations

The Splitrock Mining Company is a dedicated  ore hauling line from the Tower Soudan area of the Vermillion Iron Range in northern Minnesota to the docks at Agate Bay, just south of the Splitrock Lighthouse on the  north shore of Lake Superior.

It is set in the years 1968 to 1972. All motive power is Alco, for now. There will be one non ore train a day to service the few industries and mine supply spurs. The Vermillion Range Freight, or VRF. One interchange with he DMIR and maybe the DWP, will be the connection to the outside world.

All materials were on hand from previous projects. Cross supports were cut to size and drilled to allow wiring.

Brief History.

As a child I did not have a model railway or any hobbies due to circumstances beyond my control. Yet the sight of model railways made me curious and fascinated.

O scale woodland seenics buildings at Menards

I was in Menards store today and saw some cool O Scale woodland scenics buildings. Highly detailed and prebuilt.

Under $100.00. Seemed like a good deal.

Its CHAINSAW time!

Well, its that time - time to start over!

My Monongahela/Midland Atlantic/PRR Trenton Cutoff layout has come to an end. Such is the inevitable end result of letting one's mind and modeling interests wander while building a model railroad layout. Add to that the fact that I was trying to cram two pounds of you know what into a one pound sack and it becomes obvious that this my efforts would not turn out well!
