Santa Fe M.O.W. Consist on a Budget
I was starting to think about modeling a (partially) prototype-inspired Santa Fe 1950's M.O.W. consist using older '70's equipment (aka Athearn, AHM, Tyco, etc), starting with what I have on hand.
This photo appears to be older than the period I want to model, judging by the paint scheme of the crane. However it gives me a general idea of where I'm going.
An update on the "please show us" series. (includes new update on shift over from "blog" format to "topic" format)
Note: All future "Please Show Us" Series entries will be made in "topics" instead of "blogs."
Please show us your Mallets, Garratts, and other articulates.
Well, its officially been (almost) a month since I started this series, and to celebrate that achievement, we have moved on from smaller locomotives (for the time being) to focus on the great articulate locomotives of the world. I know what you're all thinking. "Finally! About time we get to show something B
"My zip texturing woes," or "A sticky situation." (please help me!)
Please show us your 0-6-0's and similar switchers.
Please show us your Moguls, Consolidations, and Decapods
Well, it's that time again! This week we will focus on Consolidations, along with other locomotives of the 2-?-0 variety (including 2-6-0 Moguls, 2-10-0 Decapods, and the rare 2-4-0). My example for this week is actually one of my dad's locomotives that he gave me permission to use for this blog post. It's an On30 Spectrum Consolidation that dad bought when the two of us began to develop an interest in narrow gauge. Someday, it is
The worst paint schemes in history... epic fails of yesteryear.
I understand that many of you are probably feelin' a little bit down, so I thought I would create this blog for the purpose of comedic relief. Basically the idea is to find the dumbest, funniest, most incorrect and absurd renderings of prototype paint schemes we can. You'd be surprised just how many fails were turned out by the big names of yesteryear.
I shall start with the classic Santa Fe Warbonnet.
Please show us your Pacific's & Hudson's... for the sake of our sanity :)
I am new to the MRH Forums so please excuse me if this isn't the correct place to put a request. I know there are many of you who would really appreciate a chance to show us your collection, and so I have decided to start this thread to give you all a chance to show off your locomotives... namely steam locomotives...
