Note: All future "Please Show Us" Series entries will be made in "topics" instead of "blogs."

As we all know, last Sunday was Fathers Day.  It was also the week when I decided to take a break from featuring smaller locomotives in the "please show us" series and post an entry dedicated to articulate locomotives.  Very few people saw and responded to this entry as a result.  I will not be posting a new entry to the series this week, but instead will give those who missed out on the  chance to show us your Mallets, Garratts, and other articulates a second opportunity.  I will also, however, be keeping this blog open as a place for those who posted late entries to previous blogs to post their photos (and maybe videos) in as well as posting them on their respective blogs.

This blog will also be functioning as a sort of navigation (and possibly announcement) page for the "please show us" series.  Perhaps this level of organization might seem like overkill, but, hey, I like making things like this less overwhelming and easier to navigate.

Keep posting, have fun, and stay healthy!

NEW UPDATE

When I started the "Please Show Us" series, I wasn't aware of the "topics" option for web posts on this site.  For future refrence, all future "Please Show Us" Series entries will be made in "topics" instead of "blogs."  Do not panic if you cannot see future entries to the series in my blog area.

The next entry to the series, entry 6, will be showcasing Ten-Wheelers and Twelve-Wheelers, and posted on Saturday, July 4th, instead of on Sunday, due to the fact that we will be leaving town on Sunday for a brief period.  Entry 7 will feature Mikados, Prairies, and Santa Fe's, and will be posted on Sunday, July 12th.  After that I will cease to post future entries to the series on Sundays, as our local Church has announced that they will be resuming on-campus Church services that Sunday.  I am expecting to do an encore "Articulates" entry to the blog due to limited contributions (my fault for posting on a Sunday).

All this is assuming that there is still interest in the "please show us" series.  In order to proceed with the series, at least 10 people must post photos of their corresponding equipment to the sixth entry of the series.

The "Please Show Us Your Steam Locomotives" Series:

Pacifics and Hudsons

Americans and Atlantics

Moguls, Consolidations and Decapods

0-6-0's and Similar Switchers

Mallets, Garratts, and other Articulates

Ten-Wheeler and Twelve-Wheeler

Mikados, Prairies, and Santa Fe's

Northerns, Mountains, and Berkshires

Note: Italicized Link = subject (locos and rolling stock)

Another new update:

In light of recent events I am afraid that I will be posting the next two entries to the series this afternoon... but without pictures of my own (for now).  Yes, there will be a new entry.  I have seen many excellent submissions, and not just for the latest entry... people have been making numerous submissions on earlier entries to the series over the last week or so, more so than previously.  I am not going to cancel the series, but I there are a few changes I am thinking of making.

For example; I am considering posting multiple new entries at once going forward.  You see, me and my dad found a couple of steam locomotives in a box in his garage before we all left town, and I'll see if I can convince dad to get the box down again so we can show those locomotives.  One of them falls into the pre-arranged Mikes, Prairies and Santa Fe's category that we had arranged for this weekend.  The other would fall into a category for "Mountains, Northerns, and Berkshires."  You'll just have to wait a couple days or so in order to find out which locomotives I speak of.  Sound intriguing?

I've also had a few people tell me how much this series means to them, and I found this deeply touching.  The fact that people take pleasure in browsing through these blog entries means so much to me.  But let us not forget who has contributed the bulk of the entertainment... the members of the Model Railroad Hobbyist community!  Keep up the good work, stay safe, and, above all, have fun!

Another update... more posts coming soon...

I'm sincerely sorry that the Please Show Us Your Steam Locomotives series has remained dormant for as long as it has.  I am thinking of making the final posts at some time this week.

The final entries will be as follows:

"Please Show Us Your Texans, Overlands, and Union Pacifics."

"Please Show Us Your Geared Locomotives."

"Please Show Us Your Streamlined Steamers."

"Please Show Us Your Tank Engines."

"Please Show Us Your Favorite and Most Curious Steam Locomotives."

Again, these will be coming a little bit later this week.  Photos by the OP might be a little late in coming.  I'm sorry that it has taken this long but I kinda lost steam going into the home stretch.  But at least we're getting out these final posts!

Am I thinking about doing another of these series' for diesels and electrics?  Absolutely!  Will I actually do it?  Who knows.
