The Fascia is Up

The fascia is up from Birdsboro to the end of the peninsula and the first coat of paint is on.

All of the switch linkages in Birdsboro are in, as well as the car card boxes.  Inching ever closer to operations.

Small 4' x 15' Layout that looks bigger than it really is.

Just a little above what I would call small Not Sub Compact, but Compact,  but it does look bigger than it is and has what most people want here,  multiple trains orbiting around the entire layout

Nighttime operation at the Copper King Mine, Truck wrecks at Bingham

We are looking at nighttime operation at the Copper King Mine and Railroad, then we show you some great Haulage Truck wrecks at Bingham canyon mine, pictures they never wanted you to see.

St. Lawrence & Atlantic in N scale

Well, three years in and my layout is starting to look like something more than the plywood central!  The layout isn't large: a 12 foot by 40 inch rectangle with a 4-foot staging yard tacked onto one end.  One side is a massive paper mill inspired by the Cascade mill in Berlin, NH, and the other a pretty much freelanced town with a station model of the big station in St. Johnsbury, VT, a transload business, and a siding for a yet-to-be-determined business.  Operationally two railroads rule the iron: the St.

Switching the GE plant at JA Tower

Usually in the early morning, the Erie yard job at JA Tower can be found switching the the GE Compressor Plant on my Central New York and New England (CNY&NE) Railroad on the East end of my Northfork Yard.  The structure is only 5 inches deep and has 2 staging tracks running inside of it.  They run the length of the yard holding trains for a connecting branchline. It was built using a custom blend of City Classic modular warehouse components with lots of roof details.

Drive Around the Mill

The Track Dept. informed us that the main interlocking will be out of service for the rest of the morning at least...  Perhaps it would be a good time to take the yard vehicle and give the new conductor trainee a tour of the mill.

  We'll start with the woodlot.

A trip around the layout, May 2, 2021

This is mostly a test of the 4K capabilities of my cell phone, as well as combining my stabilizer rig with the cell phone. Seemed to work pretty well.

I think I've figured out why I'm going so slowly on the scenery on my layout - I'm not very good at it yet, and I want to get better before I start going whole hog. I also want to get the railroad operating, which at this point is a combination of data entry and getting enough locomotives set up to my satisfaction.
