A switchman for a caboose
There was a bit time so I started a small project for an future addition on a caboose which will be prepared for use with an SP loco model. This caboose should receive a switch man with an illuminated lantern who should receive his place on the platform steps of this caboose.
White Swans - rolling on wheels!
"White Swans" ....
These are running as new billboard reefer models in HO-scale here!
Read a short overview about my just finished project in the following posts.
Oil lamps in HO scale - illuminated!
In last days I finished a series of small oil lamps, here a picture.
See a gallery with some remarks how I built them - http://us-modelsof1900.de/?p=12891
Here yet one of my railroad employees.
A wooden shed - under construction
I would like to write about a wood shed which I built some times ago after I have seen Pelsea's descrition of construction of a sawmill - see http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/24663. I found a lot of analogies of his building and its construction to that what I built and so I will like to present my model work.
This is the result ...
A brass caboose on the work table
A few weeks ago I purchased this Norfolk & Western caboose of class CG, a model that should run with my freight train of the Thirties with my M2 loco of N&W.
Reefers - very large PFE reefers
I started a more extensive work four weeks ago.
My friend asked for building of eight PFE R-70-2 reefers from Sunshine Models, the so-called "Super Giant reefers".
N&W class G1 - a small engine for a great job
More than 20 years was this small model of a small steam engine in my stock and never it has to do a real job.
This small class G1 consolidation of N&W was a great workaholic beside all the other great engines of N&W, because it was built in 1897 already and was in service until 1955. A real long life for American steam engines!
1900 models - and still something older!
One of my older projects was to build this 52' B&O boxcar where the prototype was built in 1867! Nearly 150 years ago!
I was fascinated to build this model where the body looks like a hopper with sloped ends - however where the car was used as a boxcar for transport of flour barrels!
An extraordinary load!
Some weeks ago a picture was shown here ...
... a really impressive and heavy load!
It was a very fascinating load for me and so I hoped to find solutions for all needed things and techniques for modeling, load including car.
