I would like to write about a wood shed which I built some times ago after I have seen Pelsea's descrition of construction of a sawmill - see https://forum.mrhmag.com/post/sawmill-2-from-scratch-12202218. I found a lot of analogies of his building and its construction to that what I built and so I will like to present my model work.

This is the result ...

... an unfinished shed or a new building under construction because I love to see this frame work and I would like to show this also to visitors.

This was the planned use of this shed, a shelter in a railroad museum in order to prevent the two "oldest and historic items" of the steam engine collection of that museum against rain and humidity - two small and "valuable" Bachmann models. And here you see also because I could not finish this shed, nobody would see the models if the roof was completely closed.

Unfortunately the museum was a great idea that a friend and me have planned to realize however he changed to the English model railroading section after two very successful exhibitions and his modules with the museum were sold. End of a nice idea, unfortunately! And a wooden coal tower that was planned also for this museum stands also on my worktable in background and waits for finishing.

And so I own this shed and do not have an own use! Do you have an interest in it?

Maybe, what are you looking at for it?

I may model a museum on the club layout or my own as I have many "dummified" engines.

@trainmaster, Thanks for your

@trainmaster, Thanks for your interest. Let us write at end per mail, please.

The start, a sketch and a lot of colored 8x8 strip wood.

Already it was the second thought that the shed should receive a lighting and these two posts are the base for it - two thin wires which are hidden in these posts.

Framework of sidewalls under construction. Here is well visible, that all crossing points and connections are cut of for a higher stability of building like is done also by carpenter's framework.

Sidewall framework is ready. On right end to see the two posts with wires for lighting.

A very simple jig for the roof girders - some nails were driven into the work board. And the result ...

One roof girder.

All!

The posts of side framework are set into holes of a temporary construction board and a first roof girder was fixed onto its place.

Four of roof girders have found its position ...

... and all roof girders are fixed - including the ridge pole. With this the framework was completed already.
All the wood connections are glued with white solid glue and are very safely fixed after the glue has set on next day.

I think that this framework should be a good looking base for next steps!

Lighting the shed

The shed gets its lighting - two wires were inserted into roof girders and are mounted about the full length of shed. I soldered on the two wires of small rice grain bulbs with where I added small lamp shades. Here you see also on most right and third girder the two electric feeders which bring the electric power from feet of side wall poles under the roof.

Two more of four lamps under the girder work of roof. There is not a problem to add some more lamps, however I did not want to install the illumination like the scene of a concert hall.

On leftt picture to seen the power feeders on the two mentioned poles - and right a first illumination attempt - good enought for a night scene on a layout.

Here the sockets for all ten poles of shed so that I can remove the shed from the layout without problems. The first two socket on left side are equipped with small brass strips where the power from the layout will be transferred to the power feeders onto the two "electrified" poles.
I think that this is a very simple solution in order to install the shed onto the layout or to remove it without to solder or use of other additional connectors for lighting of that shed.

Last steps ...

The roof girders received a first cover for mounting a lay of ...

... shingles.

Last pictures of a finished model work which will be in this unfinished condition. As I said, the frame work of roof construction and the model engines should be visible for visitors.
