High Fulney is a work commencing.  It is to be a 28ft x 10ft (8x4metre) free representation of the tracks that once passed through the UK town of Spalding in Lincolnshire. This is to be built in a draughty old lambing shed next to the swimming pool 150m from the house.

Starting in 1848 with the arrival of the Great Northern Railway Spalding's importance as a junction rapidly grew until in 1890 the Midland and Great Northern completed it's E/W link from the Midlands to the important fishing and holiday town of Yarmouth.

I am building a free-lanced HO scale model railroad, The Philadelphia & Delaware County Railroad (P&DC RR), loosely based on the Newtown Square and Cardington Branches of the Pennsylvania Railroad. I have finally completed putting the plaster/vermiculite mixture down for my scenic base and have painted it my basic earth color. I also got around to painting the valence. I will paint the facia after I complete my scenery. The next step is to put down the ground texturing which, per Joe Fugate's scenery DVD, is a mixture of plaster and dried tempera paint. This sifted onto the scenery base.

I've been slowly reading thru MRH premiere issue and it has definitely cut into my model raiload time. But its time well spent since I've learned from I have read and most probably from I haven't gotten to yet. I think Joe and his crew have done a great job and they are all to be commended for what is going to be one of the greatest things to come down the pike since DCC.
