Modeling general discussion

Tempus Fugit.....................yikes.............
..............We will all face this dilemma eventually-getting too old to care for a house as well as not wanting to anymore!
I am wondering about how others plan to deal with downsizing from a home with a basement layout and workshop to a Condo or Apartment situation in a warmer climate like Florida without a basement.
My S/O and I have been thinking about doing this in the not too distant future but I have a real problem thinking about no layout or no workshop while I really want no snow and no yard/house maintenance.

MRH historic videos
I just installed a new Synology NAS (network attached storage) box on my computer network at home. It's currently configured with 5.5TB of raid 5 storage and has DLNA to stream video to my blue-ray player. So I thought maybe I should re-render some of the videos that went with past issues of MRH in hi-def. Then I thought I should share the them. Here are a few.

Weathering a vehicle...
Here is my first attempt at weathering a vehicle, this is a Herpa "Trucks of America" Kenworth prime mover, coupled to CNW Trailer (Athearn).
I only wanted a very light weathering to take the plastic shine off the prime mover, but once I had done that there was no way the trailer was getting away with looking so shiny and brand new!

HO rulers- the pain
Anyone ever grind off their General-brand HO scale ruler to be true at 0? It's a pain to measure stuff having to slide up to 0- on my ruler at least, the little extra "-1 to 0" is not to be trusted, so 0 on the ruler does not equal a true 1 if you just bump things up a scale foot...does that make sense?? That comes into play if I'm trying to get a height from the rails, for example. It's really a pain trying to get accurate measurements by using the ruler along with a T-square- my common practice for measuring, marking and cutting.

How do I approach...............
The names have been changed to protect the innocent!

LED Headlites for straight DC
Over the years I have equipped many of my diesels with constant lighting kits.....my layout is straight DC......some 0f the 1.5 bulbs have burned out....since I will have to disassemble engines to replace bulbs, I've been wondering what it would take to change to LED lighting....Any comments...Thanks...Larry
N-Scale Articles wanted.
I'm looking 4 two articles pertaining 2 a drilling rig article by David Stefanek, I Have a very poor foto copy of the article on
bilding a drilling rig. And the other article David mentions is by John Whitlock about automation 4 this rig.
Drilling Rig Article is in the N-scale Jan/Feb 1994 Magazine I believe.
Automation article is in the July/Aug. 1989 Issue of the N-Scale Magazine also, I believe.
