Modeling general discussion

Narrow gauge

Who's modelling narrow gauge?

I'm just starting with H0n3 and building a module with narrow gauge track and one dual gauge track.

This is the first turnout, scratch build.

BTW, 480 mm = 18.8'',  570 mm = 22.4'' and 1000 mm = 39.3''

Feet and inches

I'm from Sweden and need some help how to read measurements in feet and inches.

How do I read this?

29' - 7"

29 feet + 7 inch ? (that will give me 9017 mm)

or

29,7 feet ? (that will give me 9052,56 mm)

NMRA members - What activites does your division/region host?

I'm not interested in getting into one of those "NMRA is wonderful" vs. "NMRA is useless/obsolete" arguements.

I'm simply interested in if you are in the NMRA (and I am) and what you think of your region/division - what sort of activities do they host, that sort of thing? Do they have regional/divisional conventions?

Also, what level of interest do you have in the Annual NMRA convention and the National Train Show?

Is your Athearn tunnel motor like this? :-|

Ever since I saw Pentrex' documentary about Rio Grande system in the 80's, tunnel motors are my favourite american diesels. Even though I am trying to model transition PRR period, I always wanted to make just one consist of D&RGW diesel + few freight cars from the 80's.

What online hobby shop do you use to purchase HO Products?

  Greetings,

I've been using http://www.nscalesupply.com for all of my online

N scale needs. I really like the fact that they have pictures of most of the

products they sell. They offer a discount. They are trustworthy, and have been

in business for over 9 years, and have great service. I'm looking for an online

hobby shop that's similar, but sells primarily HO scale.

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Oh hi!

Hi there!

I´d like to introduce myself. My name is André and I´m from Hamburg, Germany.

I found this nice site while I was asking Google about "Bellina drop" and found Charlies Bear Creek RR which I knew from MRP. There I found an advertisement about this site and so things started rollin´.
