I just got back from the New

I just got back from the New England/North East Prototype Modelers Meet. It was a great time and not at all expensvie. Same price as above. I highly recommend the experience.

For me, it was becoming apparent I could not afford the NMRA convention (I will still do the train show). This let me see more clinics in two days then I would have at NMRA as well as some I would not have been able to attend at the national if I had gone for only two days. I stayed at a camp ground that was 10 minutes away, not an option for downtown Hartford!

NMRA Convention

My wife and I had originally discussed going to Hartford for a well needed vacation, but then my son decided he wanted to get married. So the convention is no longer an option even though Hartford isn't all that far away by train or even car. So instead I'll have to live vicariously and see it on Movie Mondays and read about in the model railroad press. Phooey.

I so looked forward to meeting some of the folks here and seeing some of the stuff being presented there.

How about a detailed description

How about a detailed description of what goes on at a prototype modelers meet.  What would I expect to see.  (I'm kind of doing a cost/benefit analysis, here.)

Thanks.

At some point I will type up a synopsis of my experience. I got a litte something out of everything I attended.. and a lot of something out of more then a few.
