Smoke Box color
Okay, SP guys. I've done a bit of research but can't find info. I own several books on the SP but no luck there. When did the SP start painting steam loco smoke boxes silver and when did they stop?

Article about Truck Dump Coal into Hoppers, Hoppers Moved by Rope Winch?
I read an article in a magazine, some time ago, that showed a model of a back woods coal operation where the coal was dumpped into the hoppers form a dump truck and the crew working the operation would put the loaded cars forward with a rope pull running off of a winch and pullies. This was how they would also moved the next empty into place. Have checked with close friend at MR and it was not their.
Did anyone see this article or one simlar.
Cut or keep magnetic uncoupling pins. . .
I personally find the magnetic uncoupling pin used used on Kadees and other knuckle coupler manufactures to be a pain. I usually have no problem adjusting them with my Kadee plyers but I always run the risk of damaging the coupler and/or the coupler pocket (and the car) when adjusting. I would rather just cut all of them off.
When I uncouple a car, I use the "great uncoupling hand in the sky method". Magnetic uncoupling would be neat but using your hand/tool is pretty prototypical considering real trains are uncoupled by hand.

Railroad Links
Hello Everyone!
Seeing as we recently had a railroad tunes thread, I figured we should also have a railroad links thread as well. Basically a place to pool all the links to our favourite websites for future references. I did a search of the forum and didn't find a thread like this, so let me know if this has already be done or isn't allowed.
Anyway, post the links to your favourite railroad related sites. These links can be used to inspire, help out someone, or anything like that. It can be anything as long as it's railroad related.
