Golden Spike Anniversary on the WP 8th Sub

I noticed while browsing old posts tonight that Rob Spangler recently passed the 1st anniversary of driving the golden spike on the 8th Sub.

Congratulations, Rob

Advice on very light weathering

I would like advice on how to "lightly" weather my locomotives and rolling stock. I have seen the thread on the finished examples of weathered stock. They look great but I do not want all out weathering at this time. I basically want a light weathering below the frame rail. I like the look of a new or washed engine etc, but obviously the wheels, trucks, fuel tanks get "grey?" pretty fast. I do not own an airbrush. If I used chalks, what keeps the chalk on? These may seem like basic questions, but I think a little goes a long way. I just need advice on how to begin.

Pictures from our side of the table at the 2012 NMRA Train Show

Hi all,

Once again, Fast Tracks attended the NMRA Train Show, held this year in Grand Rapids, MI.  Throughout the week we were there, during the convention and clinics we hosted, visiting some layouts and putting on the show, I shot a bunch of images of the fun.

I have those on our Facebook page at the link below.  You should be able to see them even if you don't have a Facebook account.

Brass repair ... and paint?

I have pulled out several elderly brass locomotives - all acquired 1985-1991. All but one have some kind of operational hitch, and a couple of them have minor damage. For example, one articulated doesn't turn its front engine but the rear is fine. One steam loco has very jerky running, I believe because it makes intermittent contact over the drawbar but I haven't really nailed that down yet. Yet another has a broken footboard pilot (one footboard is missing its tread) and a missing injector although both pipes are in place.

Streaming video for op session

Probably a stupid question but...

I was wondering. Does anybody set up webcams and stream their operating session live over the internet? Has anyone ever thought of doing something like this?

N scale model railroad: How much is it worth?

Hi,

I'm interested in an appraisal of my layout by a fellow model railroader. If anyone has any idea what it's worth, let me know!

Here are some pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/48198741@N06/sets/72157625942244540

Any info would be great!
