May 2021 link issue
The link on page 14 of the May 2021 issue for the "New House Basement Tour" takes me to a discussion on resin casing flex track. No big deal but was interested in the new basement discussion as I'll be ready to look for one of those holes in the ground soon myself.
May issue status - MRH and Running Extra
Expect MRH magazine to release the afternoon of Saturday, May 15th and Running Extra to come out the evening of Sunday, May 16th.
April MRH: Evening of April 15
The April MRH Is almost done. I expect to be posting it by the evening of April 15th.
Running Extra should follow the evening of April 16th.
Rise and Run Calculations
Building a small Mom and Pop coal distributor and need a ramp up to 9 scale feet. So in doing the calculations for the grade up to the 9 foot deck I came across a % grade calculator.

Any way on with my question is 5% too much for a coal dump?
To obtain a 3% grade i will need 300 scale feet in HO. 200 ft is 4.5%.
MRH Running Extra host site SENDOWL is BACK UP
UPDATE: It’s back up now.
Looks like the site where we host MRH Running Extra downloads, SENDOWL, is offline.
We're trying to contact support, but given it's a weekend, it could be Monday before we can reach anybody ... assuming the weather and power outages hasn't taken a hit on their hosting.
MRH February Perfect Storm Disaster update

Includes photos of the storm damage ... it's not as bad as it could have been, but it's still not pretty.
Magazine will not make the 15th: new date: Feb 20
***Major winter storm *** No power at MRH HQ until mid-next week! No internet! Mag release WILL NOT MAKE THE 15th without internet or power. ***
Best laid plans ... Feb 10-14 were crucial to getting MRH and Running Extra out on time this month since we’ve not been in the office for the last 10 days due to the death of my mother taking us out of the office Feb 1-10.

Magazine donation
My father, a huge RR fan, recently passed away. I’m looking for a home for his thousands of RR magazines. He lived in Richmond, CA and I’m there now going through his stuff. He has decades of: Model Railroader, Continental Modeller, Railfan & Railroad, Model Railroad News, Railroads Illustrated, Today’s Railways, and more.
I’m leaving Richmond Friday, heading to central WA. Is anyone here or there or on the route interested in the magazines? I’d hate to send them to recycle.
MRH / MRH-RE issue release date going forward: ~ the 15th
BACKGROUND
One frustration our news guys have had is that manufacturers may release a new item from 28-31st of the month but we've already closed the issue off at that point. It takes us about two weeks from issue closeoff to produce a fully tested and (mostly) bug free magazine.
