PECO Loco Lift
I received the below email today from the Yahoo Group Model Railroads of Southern California. I find this tool very interesting! Rather than type out an entire new message on this I copied Bob's message to post here. I recently sold a Southern Pacific steamer that was so detailed that handling it was something of chore without damaging it. I think we discussed the super detailed engines that we don't want to break detail parts off. Well, here is a solution. Watch the videos to see it in action.
Temporary spray adhesive for pink foam?
Is there a spray adhesive that will not attack pink foam I can use to temporarily hold down some printouts with?
I've searched a few forums and Google and have come up with some permanent adhesives but nothing temporary/repositionable.
Thanks.
Using Lego Bricks for Square Corners
Getting 90 degree corners on structures is not particularly easy. Some time ago, I realized I could make it much easier using something that I still have tubs of laying around from my childhood: Legos. The blocks are perfectly square and can be attached with cyanoacrylate adhesive (CA) to every plastic or styrene surface that I've ever used.
Decal setting solution. What is your preference? And Why?
So I've been back to painting locos and rolling stock lately. I have been using various decals from my scrap box and new sets as needed for a few projects that have been on the back burner. My question is, 'what is you preferred decal setting solution and why? reason I ask is that I have been using Walthers Solvaset for a number of years with fairly good results however, I also have been restoring a bunch of older decals using Microscales Liquid Decal Film with very good results so far. Is there a better decal set out there? I haven't used Micro Sol
Gluing Rubber
Hello All.
Im needing to glue a piece of pure rubber floor mat, about 1/16 thick, to a solid wood floor. The piece of rubber is about a 3x6 inch piece. What is the appropriate glue to use? it is a static display only, and no handling will occur!

Machining of 3D printed plastic
I recently purchased some 3D printed locomotive cabs off eBay. The seller had molded on mounting bosses to drop the cabs onto a Bachmann F7 chassis. Problem is Bachmann made two different F7 chassis. The one the cab was designed for and the one I bought. I now have to remove 4 mounting bosses that are approximately 1/4"x1/4"x1/2" that are against the sidewalls of the cab and the roof. I found an Xacto chisel blade would take off a sliver at a time but I have a lot of material to hog out.
