Video greetings from the Netherlands.

Hallo together,

the European FREMO celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Dutch division last weekend in Zuidbroek, the Netherlands. Some picture galleries are available here. Yes, the European H0 layout was rather great: 4000 feet of modules (new record ;-) ).

You prefer N scale and Northamerican prototype? What about a flyover along the americaN layout?

Any clever double crossover/slip motor approaches?

In the layout under construction there are a couple of double crossovers and (so far) a double slip. The straightforward approach would appear to be one motor for each set of points. Thats a lot of expensive turnout motors! Thinking about the crossovers I realized that there are three positions of the four points possible -- both sides open or either cross-over thrown. Be nice if there was a three position tortoise motor! Anyhow, I am a newbie on these matters and am curious if any of the old hands have developed a better approach to automating these kinds of turnouts?

The Henderson Building Kitbash - Part 2

Construction continues on the Henderson Building. Since the last post all cutting, fitting, filling, painting, mortar lines, and weathering on the outside have been completed. I've also added the interior window treatment and I'm presently working on the lighting (thus the wire hanging out)

Pictures Inside Of An Engine House

A few weeks ago I posted a question that I am looking for pictures or where I can find pics of inside of an

engine house. I scratch built an engine house much like the one Walthers makes. It place next to the edge

of the layout so I need to add some detail to make it look beilevable.

Track clearance markers

There is, at the same page as the derailers, another easily modeled track detail item:

Just a piece of styrene with a short lenght of yellow wire insulation.

Derailer

There has been some mentions about derailers and there placements on other treads in the forum. I want everyone to help gather the information in one single tread so we can all easy find it and help fellow modelers to use the proper placement.

I am myself wondering where to place them on sidings and spurs. I'm planning to install derailers on my layout but don't know where they are placed on the prototype. I know a little about there placement on the Norwegian railroad, but not the american railroads. Any help will be appreciated.

install new decoder

Hello everyone!

I have a Bachman GP30 DCC on board and I want to install a new decoder. I think Bachman is a basic decoder because the motor is poor running. I am a novice but I want to install  the new decoder myself.

This is a picture of the Bachman  decoder:http://yfrog.com/0xdscf1652wj

Can you help me?

Using a diorama to test scenery ideas

I have been playing around with some scenery ideas for awhile and decided to practice some of them before I put them to use on the shelf layout. I find this exercise in scenery has really helped me to plan some things out on the shelf layout a little better. I want my layout not only to be fun to operate but interesting to look at too. I have a lot more  stuff to do but I think I am  headed in the right direction...

Is it posible to use an N scale decoder in an HO engine

I was wondering if it was posible to put an N scale decoder in an HO engine. I thought I saw an add in

one of the model railroad magazines that Digitrax was advertising one of thier N scale decoders would

work in tight spaces. Has anybody out there done this.

Trackwork prototype

Take a look at this video about replacing trackwork at Church and 30th St. San Francisco MUNI

and specially at the "unprototypical" tie layout on the switch right at front center.
