IAIS's West End - Signature scene, the "High Bridge" - completed
A mere 16 years after starting layout construction, I'm finally to the point of tackling what I consider the signature scene of my prototype, what the IAIS refers to as "the High Bridge", on the east edge of Council Bluffs. My hobby progress has been crawling along at a snail's pace in recent months, so this could take a while, but I'm really looking forward to finally recreating one of my favorite places on the IAIS.

Suggestions for HO Cypress trees
I am currently building a modular layout based in the swamps of Louisiana. The layout will be based on a fictional short line called the Cypress Creek and Southern. The CC&S operates through swamps to haul Bald Cypress trees to interchange with Norfolk Southern. I know exactly what I am doing for every bit of scenery, except how to make a Bald Cypress tree. I have looked around but have yet to find something I like that looks good, and is easy and cheap to make. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

S&NE Track nearly down
I have laid the bulk of the track. I have found out that I am short of about 3 yards of straight so I have them on order. In the meantime, I can get on with the wiring and fitting the point motors.
Here is where I am at the moment.

Free-mo at National Train Show in Indianapolis
Good morning all,
Since we are only a week away from the National Train Show in Indianapolis, I'd like to invite MRH members to stop by and say "Hello".
The railroad is comprised of modules from Massachusetts, New Hampshire,Ontario, Maryland, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Minnesota; all using the Free-mo standard. The green squares are 5ft x 5ft in size. Our space number is L-7010.

How to Model Muddy Roads
My latest YouTube video is on muddy roads.
As I'm on my iPhone, embedding it is beyond me but here's the link:

Update on the town of Watersmeet
Here are pictures of what I have been working on for the town of Watersmeet. The basic road coming out of Ironwood.

Operations - Auto Rack Switching
Does anyone have any experience switching an auto rack loading/unloading facility on their railroad(s)?
I'm curious if a crew/operator would spend the time switching out each individual car.
Currently, I've got 2 yard tracks that can hold between 6 and 9 auto racks depending on the type (89ft or Auto Max) and 3 unloading tracks (track work is in, no space to represent an auto plant for loading).
LED What the What!?
Maybe you can tell me what is going on....
I know enough about electronics to do the tasks for model railroading. I can't design a circuit board, and I can wire and build anything I require, following instructions to build an electrical circuit isn't a problem.

Large Scale Panoramas
Greetings,
Im just wondering if anyone might know of a good place to get panoramas printed? I'm needing a place that can do very large prints, with some being up to 45" wide and perhaps 130-140" long.
Ive got some backdrops from narrow gauge country that are needing printed.
Thanks for for the help!
Craig
