Concrete base for ADM
Over the years, and through many different layouts, I have tried to model street running track using various methods. Most of these used some sort of plaster and turned out with mixed results.
I have seen styrene used for roadways with good affect but was faced with an area 18 x 44 inches with two curved tracks running through.

Is it possible to re-motor an N Scale unit
I have an older Atlas N scale GP-9, part or stock #4330. It runs ok but newer units are a whole lot smoother.
So I am wondering if it is possible to do a re-motor and gear job on these or just replace it with a new or newer unit. If replacement of the unit with a newer one how do you know how new it is?
Any thoughts or ideas would be really appreciated. Thanks
Jack

Woodland Scenics Segemnts by Miles....
Recently I was catching up on all my TMTV segments, and it here was one by Miles, I Believe, where he was explaining Woodland Scenics Just Light system to someone, and he talked about getting some extra female plugs from Pololu to make our own Expansion adding our own lights already installed o our Layouts. I can’t remember the Part number he stated, nor can I remember the episode he was in. Thought I had added it to my favorites, but alas did not.
Can anyone refer me to the season and/episode that was?
Thanks Much,
Atlas Genset & ESU Loksound
Hi from the UK,
Upfront declaration: I am a DCC sound novice.
I recently bought a Atlas Genset. I believe it's one of their earlier releases. It's the CSX #1302 (Atlas Ref 10 001 195). Ive been looking at adding DCC & sound to it. I've found information about using the Soundtraxx TSU-PNP decoder and their speaker, however, after reading Joe Fugate's editorial about decoder standardisation, I'd like to find a ESU Loksound solution as the only other loco I've got is the Rapido B36-7 which came with a Loksound decoder.

Suggestions for a can motor a little smaller than old Pittman motors?
Can anyone suggest a can motor a little smaller than the old Pittman motors?
My target is a drop-in replacement for most brass steam locomotives. I will create a bracket to mimic the Pittman mount point, a 4-40 x 3/16 screw
The width is the most critical dimension to fit in most brass steam locos.
Overall dimensions less than or equal to

Tsunami 1 vs Tsunami 2 decoders
So what are the opinions, virtues, etc of the first Tsunami verses the Tsunami 2 sound decoders.
I've been offered a deal on the #1's from a gentleman who likes to replace the older ones with the number 2's.
If I am not a real 'rivet counter' about sounds, what else do I lose??

MLW M420 questions
I'm thinking of reserving a couple of Rapido M420s in order to model my two remaining Iowa Interstate M420Rs. However, since the standard M420 has ZWT trucks and the M420R has AAR-B's, I'm trying to determine if the M420 will be an acceptable starting point.

Prussian/German trains in 1860
I got a request from my son wanting information about Prussian/German trains in 1860 to talk about them in his European history class at college/university.
I have not done any research yet myself, but I was thinking that instead of just googling I would ask here for recommended resource, hoping someone who has researched the subject could point me to a good link or two to read.
Thanks in advance,
