German HO adventure
After dismantling the N scale Georgetown & Allen Mountain Railroad I have started to build my new HO railroad. I have modeled in HO scale before but it has been many years so I will have to learn many new things and step into many new traps.
As I'm a native of Germany I chose to build a German layout. I built such a layout before during a 3 year stay in Germany from 2005 to 2008 and therefore have a lot of German rolling stock, track and accessories. I hope everybody here finds it interesting enough to have a look.
Rail size
This week I was out rail fanning with my camera and the mainline for the Pan Am Railway is being upgraded to 136 lb rail right now. What code would this be say HO scale?
Still weird to see an airline loco on a loco or rolling stock.
It will be interesting to see the machinery for this upgrade. The rail is on either side of the main. Ribbon rail. Each section is 1/4 mile long and was stacked on a series of flat cars designed for this.

Sound in Proto 1000 Alco RS-2
I bought a Proto 1000 Alco RS2 recently and I wish to install sound in it. Has anybody got any good tips for the best possible speakers to use (preferably from Soundtraxx)?

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
Can I download MRH? If so how?
Adobe does not seem to installed.

Merry Christmas to all my fellow modellers on MRH...
Hi all,
Would like to wish everyone in MRH a wonderful Merry Christmas from downunder, and from the JL&T.
Hope you all have a great day tomorrow with your family & friends and get lots of goodies for your RR's!

On30 on HO layout
For those that know Bobber Gibbs of On30 Consperacy, he dropped by our Saturday meeting and I got out my On30 train to run on the upper loop of our 5'x10' club layout.
I got a new site http://armchairmodelbuilders101.com and it links to the old sites so drop by and say hi!

Color variations for Appalachian scenery
I model fall on the M&WV, more or less early fall with some colors just changing and others further along and some trees more green. My question to anyone else who models Appalachian fall is how much color variant to use without looking stupid.
Quality of bramds - rolling stock and engines
I was wondering what the consensus here is on quality rating of different brands.
I am currently using some old Bachmann trains to experiment with (plus to have for my grandson to play with). I am planning a permanent 8 x 4 layout to be set up in a spare bedroom. I plan to have one continuous loop on the outside edges to run my grandsons stuff on but want to run some better detailed, better running cars on the inside tracks.
I know everyone's opinion is different but any personel insight would be greatly appreciated.

It Does Snow in Nebraska After All!!!!! 12-20-2012 Images in Lincoln
Story and Pictures are by Chris and another great idea to model a snow coach. Happy Holidays to all.
So I opened my mouth in my last e-mail about the lack of snow so far here in Nebraska; and, within 48-hours of hitting the send button, the first winter storm hit dropping 6-12 inches of snow across the region.
