Which wire do you use for feeders to the rails?

I am planning to solder a feeder to every piece of rail on my DCC-powere HO-layout. Short lengths might be soldered to a rail next to it.

The feeders will be connected to a european style terminalor or perhaps suitcaseconnectors  out on the line. Longest run willl be ca two feet, most probably shorter.

Overhang over tracks

Thinking back to 1960s-80s railroading and clearances, I'm wondering if 22' over the railhead would be too low for a roof. I've realized that one of the places I was considering a building would put the roof overhang just over the track (22' over the railhead). The roof is fairly large and the building itself is far enough away from the tracks. Track is a shortline mainline with mainly 4750-type hopper traffic.

I'm looking for a realistic answer as opposed to "you can do it on your railroad" answer. Thanks.

Diesel notching and loco speed control

I know there are some folks on this forum that operate real diesel electric locos.  I am puzzled by exactly how the speed of a diesel electric loco pulling a train is controlled and I haven't been able to find any information to clear up my confusion.

Light Accesory Decoder?

What are some good accessory decoders for lighting? I am looking a good one that could power some light effects for our club layout. We have some street lamps, signs and another type of searchlight type item. It is around 10 total items but I would like them to be powered seprately.
