Operations
Understanding Operations Coming soon!
You can read about the upcoming episodes here.
Doing Signals on the Cheap
The prototype Big Horn Subdivision of the BNSF is dispatched by CTC. This is a relatively heavily used segment of single track main with numerous sidings for meets. During my first operating session, I decided that given the lack of signals on my layout we would dispatch the layout using track warrants. This proved to be a huge workload for the dispatcher (me) and for the crews, and I was not satisfied with the fluidity of the layout. Too much of our time was spent copying warrants and not enough running trains. This set me to thinking about how better to dispatch.

Model Railroad Waybill system
Hi there fellow modellors.
I'm starting out a new layout in On30. I've been looking at waybill systems that can be as simple as possible.
Getting started with Car Cards and Waybills
Hi Folks:
Im hopefully getting to the point where most or all of the track bugs are out of my layout, so I can actually run trains on the lower mainline (upper yet to be built) so I have been a busy beaver writing my car card and waybill database. I enjoy writing databases, and did this one in access, so it does things the way I want it to, it uses the operations sig industry list, and a bunch of my own forms and queries and such, so that I can generate car cards and way bills and such.
VIA RAIL Turbo Train by Rapido Trains
VIA Rail Turbo Train rounds a series of bends on the CN Mainline near Trenton, Ontario on the busy Toronto - Quebec Corridor. The Doppler Horn feature on the Rapido Trains Turbo is incredible!
GP10 with super realistic sound
Below is a video of one of my GP10s with a new speaker install by Scale Sound Systems. The low-end response is amazing and it's exciting to implement this high-quality sound to my layout.
