Trackwork
Hand Laid Track Tie Jigs
Since I have recently been getting ready for my layout and to begin bench work I still have some design ideas i want to tackle and find a solution to sped up hand laying track.
Fast Tracks Stock Aid
Hi Everyone,
I'm after opinions about Fast Tracks stock aid. Is it work the investment and does it speed up the process dramatically?
I have jigs for No.6 point form and turnout but my point form tool is a very old version that doesnt clamp the rail between two pieces and file away.
Im going to buy a new up to date one and wanted to knwo if its worth getting a stock aid at the same time.

...and sometimes, you want to watch the world burn!
Smooth as silk.

NMRA Gage (Guage)
I will admit that sometimes I am quite thick. My wife will attest to that. However, I am confident I can be taught. I have in my possession three NMRA gages. I prefer gauge. I decided to buy the Mark IV to be up to date on any changes. There doesn't appear to be any. I looked at the instruction sheet and couldn't quite wrap my head around the flangeway and points section. So I looked it up online and see there has been a revision to the instructions packaged with my gauge. I'm still a little confused.

Wiring in progress
Of all the parts of the hobby, wiring is my least favourite . You spend a lot of time working on it but change is not obvious.
I have all of the bench work completed where I was able to. I put led strip lights under the top level so I can see my track while doing the wiring. I got my turntable in and the roundhouse repaired an set in place.
Here are a couple of panoramic views of the layout to date.

Best track with roadbed attached.
I've been asked to do a display at the local K-12 school for their local history display. The CPR came through here until the 80s and was a big part of the community so teaching the kids about what used to be here is important to know how they got where they are.

Hand laid turnouts.... Tips Pointers and such
Just got an order from Fast Tracks, soon I will be starting construction of turnouts for my layout.
Before I get going I just wanted some feedback from those who have already been down this road.
Thanks..

Westhaven Industrial Rwy. : Trackplan Revision
I'm thinking too much and not doing enough. I decided I was unhappy with the trackplan as I didn't feel it allowed enough switching. So I revised it. I gained 3 switching locations. I lost any space for a structure. I re-revised and came up with something but I'm not sure I'm satisfied. I'll post the original and then the revision as it stands now. Looking for opinions. Both ideas are track packed and that's what I want. Downtown urban switching. However I do need room for some structures.

MOST Reliable 3-way Turnout
What is the most reliable 3-way turnout anyone has experienced?
I intend to place one in a helix 'box' just outside my train shed layout, and will be providing a door to reach in and fix derailments, but I am hoping to do that VERY seldom.
