Old Walthers kits
Hello there I was wonder what size wheels do I need for the old walthers kits that mostly oil tankers. Do I use 33" or 36" wheels?

Stewart/Kato F7 Noise
I have an older Stewart F7 unit with a Kato drive. I recently did some servicing on the unit and after I reassembled the unit, I could hear a chugging noise coming from it (assuming it's an issue with one of the gear boxes). I took it apart again and ran it without the shell after inspecting the mechanism (didn't see anything wrong with the mechanism. Motor runs fine) and the noise was still present along with the unit slowing down slightly on one of my curves (22" radius) after minutes of running.
Accurail 36 ft boxcar rebuild
I recently purchased an Accurail 36 ft boxcar and after looking it over I wasn't too pleased with the size of the molded grab irons so I sat down to change then. This is the result. The car is lettered with decals from a departed old friends layout.

Weathering Like a Pro series
Purchased the Weathering Like a Pro video series volumes 1 & 2 by Mike Confalone.
This was my first attempt using a UP covered hopper as a guinea pig. Overall not to bad, however I feel that there is room for improvement.
All I can say is the video series is amazing and worth many times more than what it costs. If you haven't already bought the videos I highly recommend them...

ProtoThrottle Milestone
Today, we just finished shipping all the ProtoThrottle pre-orders. Thank you to all who ordered, and to the MRH community where this all started. We look forward to seeing where this goes in the future.
Norway
Took an amazing seven hour train ride from Bergen to Oslo up and over the mountains and past the glaciers and lakes. The ride was smooth, comfortable and scenic.
And along the way I spotted these cars. That pale greenish weather-beaten car in the background is a snowplow. And based on what I learned, there can be an awful lot of snow.
