Locos - Rolling stock (general)
The Bradford Valley Lumber Co - Locomotives & Rolling Stock
Hi all,
One of the main reasons I got into On30 was because I enjoy scratchbuilding and kitbashing, both structures and rolling stock. Freelancing a logging railroad allows me to enjoy this aspect of the hobby, and I'd like to share some of the models I've built:
200 Ton Crane & Work Caboose
Here are some pictures of my latest rolling stock project. (Not the loco) I am going to enter it in my annual local NMRA/NCR/Division 6 Fall Show this Sunday. This show is something we do every year on the first Sunday after Thanksgiving.
It is open to the public and is a Show & Tell type of show. There are no sales just show the public what Model RR is all about.
Building a home for a GE 85 Ton Locomotive
Well the purpose of building two GE 85 Ton Locomotives was so I could run them in an open pit much like they did for HBMS Flin Flon and in the Bingham Canyon Pit Utah, if not in other places as well.
Hornby Dubio crane
A friend of mine found some rolling stock in the trash { He works for a hauler } one is a crane made by Hornby Dublo / Meccano Ltd , with three flatcars all made of metal . There is also what looks like a rocket launcher all metal made by Tri-ang / made in England . I'm hopping my photos will post with this , having trouble posting photos . I watched the 2 min. video and still haveing trouble . Any info is appreciated . Jim Ross .
Tyco engines re- motor worth it?
I have two old Tyco diesel locomotives A GP-20 and a Alco Super 630. I would like to add DCC and sound to these engines but hear that the old TYCO motors draw too much current and will burn out the decoder. Has anyone experience with adding DCC and Sound to these engines? Has anyone swapped out the old motors for new ones?
Thanks in advance,
Thom
Everyone, Thank you for your responses, this was my first post to this forum and I appreciate the responses. Sorry it took me so long to reply. Thanksgiving got in the way.
Prototype Old Geeps
I found these at a freight car storage facility south of Slaton Texas this last Saturday 11/16/13. Don't find many this old and clean anymore.

Con Cor Amtrak Superliners
I've picked up a handful of the Con Cor HO scale Phase 2 superliners. The outside detailing is good, but it's that hollow inside that gets me. I do have plans of stripping the Amtrak silver and re painting these cars for a project I have planned.
These are the cars http://www.con-cor.com/HO-Amtrak-SuperLiners.html
