Shack and Outhouse
I happened across this shack and outhouse that I had on my previous layout and just placed them on the layout for the picture. Now I need to decide where they should reside.
Next stop: Fordyce, AR and it's buildings
Ok, moving onto the next town and project. This time it will be Fordyce, AR.
Here's a shot from about 2 years ago just after I finished re-aligning the track.
Painting Brick
I am getting ready to build the Walthers Water street Terminal and I really want to take my time and make an exceptional building. I did a search on the subject of painting/weathering brick and there is already a ton of info on this forum concerning this. I was just curious if there is a general consensus on what technique works the best? I know that the question is somewhat subjective but I figured I would ask anyhow and see what responses come back. Perhaps there is a new technique out there that is not covered in this forum already.
A Pump House for Gavilon
Made a bit more progress at Gavilon.
I made a final decision to have the tank cars be unloaded rather than get loaded since this is a small distributor.
So I made a concrete pad with hoses for unloading the cars.
Then I figured I needed a pumphouse to get the material from the cars to the storage tanks?

Frustration - Painting light colors like white and yellow
Dear MRHers,
I've always enjoyed weathering, but hate painting. However, my current structure project(s) are proving to be particularly painful as they involved the color white. I find light colors (white, yellow, and some reds) are always hard to apply, particularly as I don't use an airbrush.
(Is an airbrush a magic-bullet solution for always-good paint coverage?)
