3D Printing ADM - Update

Well printing and assembling the ADM elevator has been a time consuming process. So far I have created drawings for 175 individual objects which were all printed on a 3D printer. Although the elevator is not a faithful reproduction of the prototype it is close to it. I found that trying to reproduce all of the detail was near impossible.

Trying to build something this complex has been a real learning experience, I have found a lot of ways to not do something. If I were to do it again there are features of the model I would do differently.

Ashland Ore Dock

A friend and I are going to be making a model of the Ashland ore dock that was located in Ashland Wisconsin until it was torn down. So far we have gotten 195 original blueprints of the dock and the approach.

Let's see some photos of your fuel, oil, and gas dealers...

Hi everyone, I am about to attempt a 1950s fuel dealer (adjacent to an elevator) with loading and unloading equipment, tanks, etc... Let's see your fuel dealerships! Especially those from this era and car unloading/loading piping and equipment.

Styrene Siding - adhesive advice.

Group,

Currently working on a scratch build project. On one section I have the core of the building built from 1.60mm styrene, The wall sizes are 45mm H and at the longest 90mm long.

For the final product I plant to cover the wall with styrene brick pattern that is .5mm Thick.

What glue/adhesive would you suggest?  I have read that the wrong glue can cause the material to warp when using it as a skin on a core structure.

Kitbashing the Walthers 2 Bay Firestation into a likeness of a West Sacto Restaurant

Happy Holidays!

This series we will take this kit and turn it into a simple likeness of a historic building located in West Sacramento for the club layout. Looks like a 4 part series. I hope you like it. Let me know if I missed some details.
