BeNscale Signals

Just wondering if anyone has ordered  target signals from BeNscale (benscale.com).

I placed (and paid via PayPal) an order back in October 2016.I have not heard anything from this place and they do not respond to my emails asking for a shipping date.  I placed an order earlier last year and I think it took around 2 to 3 months before I received it (after issuing a complaint through PayPal).

Modern craftsman style kits - era 70s-2000

I love the look of the craftsman style kits but I am modeling in the mid 90s era of SANTA FE around the time the c30-7s and the dash-8s and sd40-2s were kings of the rail. But when i look at the kits that may be around for this era i do not find alot of cratsmans style or kits up to that quality.

Be nice to know where as the cornerstone and like don't quite take it far enough or is there a whole in the market i wonder

Does anyone have ay ideas where to start looking

Weekly Photo Fun - 1/27 through 2/2/17

Starting it off for the week with a picture of downtown Hoovertown - a work in process.  Regarding the bathrooms in the park:

Growing up in Kentucky I traveled through many small towns that had town squares / parks in the center.  Most of them had bathrooms (outhouse or flush toilets) in their parks.  Most all of the merchants surrounding the parks had signs that said "Bathrooms for customers only" or something similar.

SceniKing Roll-Outs

Does any one know if some one took over the SceniKing product line? Just looked at their website and it appears they stopped filling orders in 2015.

I'm looking for four of their M001s to string together.

Anyone know of similar backdrop products to  SceniKing where the bottom of the back drop image lines up nicely with the flat sub-roadbed and images like trees are lined up to scale at the front of the back drop?

Buying sheet styrene

Good day,

I have been a member on MRH for almost 3 years now, but have only made a few posts so far.  Today's post is a request for advice.

Unloading grain from boxcars

Fresh out of HS in 1971, I worked at a local terminal grain elevator in Salina, KS.  Capacity, around 10 million bushels.  At that time, this elevator did a "boxcar" business of receiving grain by rail.  I didn't see many covered hoppers, but I saw tons of boxcars.  For several years I have tried to remember, let alone find, an example of how the grain was extracted from the boxcars.  I remembered that there was a twin screw auger that was inserted into the boxcar, and it traveled on rails, but beyond that, nothing.

Making platform for the main station

I maybe should have reserved more length on the layout for the main station platform?

Blair Line Sam's Roadhouse on the S&NE

I needed a "seedy" building just outside the gates of the freight yard and Blair Line's Sam's Roadhouse seemed to fit the bill. Their description is:
