advice on creating a european sidewalk for a street
I am trying to create sidewalks for a european raceway/layout. I used some parts of a retaining wall that I had molded out of hydrocal. See pic. This is O scale and I need to make my sidewalks wider for light poles. I also have a problem of trying to extend my sidewalk around a street curve.
Other than hydrocal/plaster, is there any material that I can use that will allow me to "curve" my cobblestone around the bend on my street. I also need to make a transition where the sidewalks meet at the corner of my street.

Asphalt Shingles
I am wondering what folks are using to represent 3 tabbed asphalt shingles. These things are ubiquitous in my area since at least the 70s. Wanting to try to model them but can't seem to find a product or technique other than printed textures.

The future of SouthRiver Model Works detail parts.
First, we saw the FSM detail line sold. Now we see Bob Van Gelder selling his line. So these amazing detail parts are still available, in fact, we might get a more relaxed ability to buy parts.

Warped Cardstock
I'm building a craftsman kit that calls for a cardstock roof. It is an octagonal water tower so the roof is complicated. To make it easy, the manufacturer provides a paper template to be glued to the cardstock as a cutting and scribing guide. The cardstock was bowed to begin with. Usually applying paint to the cupped side will cause it to go the opposite direction and become flat. I decided to glue the paper with white glue to the cupped side and put it under several heavy books (my old bible commentaries come in handy) and let it dry.
Gray Asphalt Shingle Weathering / Realism
Question for everyone on the forums. What do you use for realistic asphalt shingle weathering? I am using Rusty Stump 3 Tab Shingles that are of the paper variety and am very happy with their appearance in HO scale. Yet they are too consistent in color and lack texture. Photos and techniques would be appreciated. I'll post my structure photos when I get the chance.
Thanks.
new source for laser-cut doors, windows, siding, etc.
Great laser-etched brick and concrete block material is available in O, S, HO and N scales from Rail Scale Models (www.rail-scale-models.com)
They also sell ornate windows and doors, freight doors, industrial windows, etc. These are products designed by Walt Gillespie at Rusty Stumps Scale Models.
I've used these in several scratch-built structures, and recommend them.
