Walthers: Not supporting N scale?

I've been noticing all these great new products coming out from Walthers - the SceneMaster range, the Cornerstone Printing plant, cold storage facility, etc.  Perfect for my modern outline layout (especially the cold storage facility, as my location has one in real life)...however...I model N scale...and all these new structures, people and vehicles are HO only.

Scratchbuilding an Animated Water Tower

Part 1: Basic Structure

All steam railroads need water towers, and the BVLC is no exception.  I'd planned to have one water tower on each side of the layout, given that they depict different ends of the same line.  With that in mind, I scatchbuilt and animated both of them.

Fascia color choices

Thanks to advice on these forums, I changed the color of my fascia and lower wall from a sage green to a brownish green and lower wall gray.

Creepy Water

A question regarding the various "water" products - the stuff we use to "pour" to make ponds, lakes, harbors, etc.....

Over the past 2 dozen or so years, I've used Envirotex (and Envirotex Lite) numerous times, all with good results and wouldn't hesitate to use that product again.

Working on the DFC&T Engine House

After 2 months of the front wall sitting around, I finally decided to start work on the engine house for the narrow gauge. Unfortunately, I didn't take photos of the other walls being constructed.

Looking for a source for a custom decal -Palmer Asbestos smoke stack

Fellow modelers:  I'm looking for a source to supply a quantity of two to four off white decals to represent the lettering on my Palmer Asbestos smoke stack.  I know it would be pricey; however, I think that I would go crazy trying to duplicate the lettering myself.  Thanks in advance for your help.  Here's a picture of the stack:

A sign of model railroad mental illness

In my recent blog post about the transformers for my Fluke Transformer scene I had said "What fun it was gluing the insulators on the tops of the transformers (NOT!)".  I though I'd share a picture of an insulator on top of a penny so you could get an idea of the size (which is smaller than a grain of rice!)

I believe trying to glue 24 of these insulators on top of the transformers (2 each) just to make a scene more interesting may be a sign of mental illness.  What do you think?

advice on creating a european sidewalk for a street

I am trying to create sidewalks for a european raceway/layout. I used some parts of a retaining wall that I had molded out of hydrocal. See pic. This is O scale and I need to make my sidewalks wider for light poles. I also have a problem of trying to extend my sidewalk around a street curve.

Other than hydrocal/plaster, is there any material that I can use that will allow me to "curve" my cobblestone around the bend on my street. I also need to make a transition where the sidewalks meet at the corner of my street.
